Here we are at day 8. Love the height on these. Starting to fill out pretty nice. I think these will be nice growers.

Every plant i see grown in kind soil is looking great.

I want to use kind soil for a remote outdoor grow using autos in 3 gallon fabric pots put into the ground.
Will be using a top layer of roots organic, not sure which one yet (707 or greenfields i think).

However im worried about the notorious smell of kind soil(from what ive read lol) making it highly likely to be dug up by critters.

Does anyone have any experience using kind soil for a remote outdoor grow?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

How long lasting/strong/bad is the smell actually when dealing with it indoors?

How long do you notice the smell of the soil after getting it into your pots and adding your top layer of roots organic for example.

Does it stink up your house for a bit when you open the bag or is it just like a strong smell when you put your nose in it?
:thanks:
The smell is not crazy bad. It actually smells like it's going to grow something crazy good. After potting it I hardly smell it at all. However I can certainly understand critters. My deck flower pots and window boxes are continually being dug up by squirrels. But I think I've figured it out. Bamboo skewers for shish kabob. I have them them sticking out of the pots a la The Walking Dead style. You could also put some kind of chicken wire fence around. Also animals don't like Bone Meal spread around (saw it in a youtube video).

The expense is turning me off, been thinking about it, went to thier site earlier to order some and closed the page. I assume the cost is for convenience? Just add water...

It's a strong smell but it dies down after everything is put together. Cover your soil with sand on the top and you'll be fine! I don't think critters will want to dig it up its more of a fruit fly/mold gnat issue which is easily prevented with a top layer of sand :)

It's worth it to me. You can grow 8 autos I think with 25lbs in 3gal pots. It's more expensive on amazon than it is on the actual website.

As soon as you bury it you can no longer smell it. At least I never could
