My normal grow method is flood to waste in promix based medium and AN nutes under two 300 watt LED's. I just ordered 5 lbs of Kind Soil and 1.5 cu. ft of Roots Organic Soil. I plan on splitting the Kind Soil into two 2 1/2 lb lots in the bottoms of my 3 gallon pots, then topping off the remainder of the pots with the Roots Organic Soil. I am planting two (NLXBB) X AutoUltimate. This was an accidental cross that I have never grown out, but should be very large plants. I have never ever done an organic grow before and have a couple of questions.
Should I add perilite to the Roots Organic or go right out of the bag. What should the pH be right out of the bag, and if needs adjusted, what should I use. I currently use Aluminum Sulfate to lower the pH of my Promix.
Can I put my pre-germinated seed directly into the Roots Organic or is a starter cube of some type required?
Do I still water until it comes out the bottom, then wait a few days until the pot is light in weight, and water again the same way? Or is smaller amounts fed more often a better method?
Using LED and RO water, I am assuming I will need to add CaMg? My plan is to add GH CaliMagic to the RO to give it some EC, then adjust pH as needed with my GH pH up or down. Can the Kind Soil/Roots Organic medium provide enough CaMg naturally as to not need to supplement?
@Kindsoil @Ripper I would love to have your comments. I will start a journal after my soils arrive and I have things set up and ready for the seed.
