always direct sow here last 15 years.

seed orientation does not matter, even if a tap root is showing, unless you plant too high. the tap root grows out, arches UP then down in a curve that causes a spring action to shoot the leaves out of the soil while shucking off the shell in the process.

Yes straight to soil is good, sometimes I plant straight to soil as well. I will admit I have had seeds that have not germed still this way, but thats me, paper-towel method the same outcome. I also do it the way I did with these beans drop them in a cup of water for a few hours or over night than straight into the medium. I say do what works for you. Like the old saying goes "If it ain't broke, don't fix it , just relax and let it float...." "AFN smoke out" I will say this I only had 2 beans not germ past 3 years.

Maybe I'll add this to my seed germ section. I have had many issues with seeds myself, until I started that magic trick with seltzer water.
Even straight soil when I was a newb Id merc beans all the time. And when I started getting rare beans and they wouldn't germ I had that idea. Ever since I started this even the worst of beans I have been getting to pop. But every one has a preferable way to germinate. I particularly like to germ in medium especially autos. But there are just some beans that are really mean lol. Any way thanks for all this germination talk on the thread maybe some one will find it useful.

Wow! I have never seen any strains that purple right out of the gate. They should be some great meds!

Probably said it earlier, but I am very excited about your genetics Kaos. I have found that anything purple makes for the best meds, at least in my case for Chronic Pain issues.

Lastnight looked like 3 was coming up. Should be oit this morning and ill get pics all but 1 poped in paper towel. 5th I cracked and went ahead and planted. Got 460w of cfls coming things are gonna get tight if I do end up with all ladys. Will be 9 plants shareing a 450w (280-300actual draw) mars reflector series 20 @23w 2700 cfls. Will be going 12/12 after I get cfls set up sometime next week. Something tells me I may have to get another light before this is over lol.
