New Grower Jiffy Pellet

well smashed you did offend. I call it the way I see it and you were questioning what I had said. How old are you exactly? How many years have you grown pot period? I'm telling you a fn fact. Now you can ponder it, test it, or ignore it. The fact is plants will mature faster in smaller pots. Stunting in a way is maturity. When the roots decide there isn't any place to go the plant focuses on other things. If you want big fn plants then use big fn pots. You wanna push your luck..use jiffy pellets, transplant to 8" pots or whatever. Do not question me again in public. You send me an email. You ask me for my number and call but if you question me again and try my patience ill show you what a real ass is. I try to get along with everyone but ill be the first to tell you I'm a fn redneck possible hillbilly and I won't tolerate the stupid shit.
Back to the subject at hand. I stated that I use 3 gallon grow bags. The first batch I tested I used a tiered method but then I saw that with the program I use the plants grow exceptionally fast. It was then that I decided it wasn't worth the trouble transplanting or tiering if it could be avoided. Ill take that to my grave. Many people won't have growth issues that I faced. They may not do anything to the plant in the way of care other than watering. They may stunt them with heat, lack of attention, transplanting or whatever. If you want to see a plants true potential get off the net. Do things that push the envelope. Quit fn around with transplanting and stuff. Throw it n a big pot, bucket, bag or whatever and do your thing. Maybe most would be satisfied if they got shy of a quarter from a plant..that's not me. I recently states in my grow log if you've read it that I killed 2 males and 2 females. If they aren't performing the way I think they should they're dead. I'm not one to be satisfied with mediocrity.
In closing, avoid transplanting if possible. As for getting along maybe even being friends that's cool just remember in my eyes its strike 2. Peace.

Your moron dude! I will qustion anything you say if I desire! Get bent!

Okay... I got here late but I had to re-read the entire thread to see why people would be talking to each other in this tone... I have seen some mis-communications: i.e. smashed didn't say he would move his plants permanently to 8" pots, he said he put the pellets in 8" tall cups until sex.

hitman is right when he says that transplanting should be avoided when possible, if growing auto's.

I start with regular non-feminized seeds on almost all my grows. I have tried placing non-sexed germinated seeds straight into my final pot. All it takes is an atypical run of males to set a small grower, like me, back for weeks. So, in the case of someone like myself, it is impractical to attempt to place all germinated seeds directly into their final pots. The delays and wasted resources would cost me far than the loss of yield caused by a very carefully conducted transplant.

But, if you have all the room and time in the world, or you're using feminized seeds, it's best to germ the seed and place it in the final pot.

So, you disagreed with each other... maybe it was a misunderstanding, maybe not. But, the tone was uncalled for, and does not fall in line with the Vibe we maintain at AFN.

3) Try to be civil, we don't want to have to moderate or ban people because they can't control what comes out of thier mouth. We are all adults here, afterall.
We only have 5 or 6 rules... how hard is that, if we try a little bit.

Let's not have any more of this...

Sorry for shackin up the vibe JD & messin up the thread, I be more keen to harness my tone. Again my apologies.

Let's see.lol strike 1 was where you said shutting down the lights some in the last two weeks of life would probably force them to hermie. I stated there wasn't sufficient time. That's where my experience and your ignorance of the procedure should have parted ways. Instead because of your ignorance you decided that true hermaphroditism isn't what you meant. It was really female pollen you meant. I agreed and said again there's not sufficient time. You later got pissy. There is a thread somewhere on here called "Shock Ripening" since this site is relatively new and I knew about it long before then it wasn't here that I Learned it. Please read that thread. Not only would you be possibly astounded at the results it might just blow you away as to who is familiar with the technique.
Now this time..I said I have no luck with Jiffy pellets. IMHO they are a waste of time and money. I said I understood the space and mobility factors. Then you took it upon yourself to question what was told to someone other than you. I gathered from your posts that plastic pots are all that exist and that it really doesn't matter what size pot you use even if they are 4" because you don't have root problems. They grow to their full potential for you. Is this what you were saying? I said avoid transplanting and you said moving a jiffy pellet from one container wasn't transplanting. Interesting. Then I tell you to show some GD respect and you call me a moron. Interesting again. Get bent? I don't comprehend your slang dude...dude.....those are ranch workers. Its you're not your. Probably the best thing for you to do would be read a few more books it something before you spout of knowledge you really don't have. I've went back and read several of your posts and at the very least they lack any substance. If you want to call me out you go right ahead but remember what I said and if you have any doubts as to my character ask NC, Brick, or the guys from WV. I'm not gonna pretend to be a bad ass. I'm not going to call you names, but if need be I will be glad to check your intelligence and attitude and show you just how smart you aren't. I read something on here recently that pretty much sums this up and then I'm done. If I bought what you think you know and sold what you do know I'd make a big profit. Later

Wow, just can't let it go, didn't think it would ever happen but your the 1st on my ignore list.

Fellas please. I think a lot of people leave other forums and join this forum because of how patient and nice people are on this forum lets please not turn this into like other forums. I hope you two could make up and discuss it through private messages and take it from there. It seems as though it was a misunderstanding it would be great if you two could resolve it. :)

A question for you hitman. So lets say you do germinate using the paper towel method. Once germinated do you put them straight into your final container? Also just to clarify are you saying plastic pots are no good at all? Are those bags that you are referring to made out of plastic? Sorry for all these questions I'm kind of confused and new to this whole thing.

Thanks

Ok rc..as I stated I'm finished with the argument. I don't mind your questioning because of your approach. I've never had a lot of luck germinating mj with paper towels. Many do it and there's nothing wrong with it. if you do use that method my advise is to move the seed as soon as it breaks the shell and the tap root is about an 1/8th inch. I say that length because I've tried transplanting seeds with longer tails and for whatever reason including breakage they don't seem to do as well. The plastic was my way of saying it hit its boundaries. There's nothing wrong with plastic at all. I start my seeds directly into the grow bags. I use the clear detergent lids as a humidity dome. Yes the bags are A lot bigger but autos are quite a bit different in their first weeks. There is a little bit of an argument as to whether pot size determines sex but I planted almost directly and got 2 males and 9 females out of the bunch so therell have to be a lot more proof shown to convince me of that.
My bags, buckets, pots pretty much everything I use is plastic.

My apologies Joe. I had a phone call and did not see your post. I'm finished with the subject
Glad I wasn't on the phone when you edited... :peace:

Based on what I've seen here, something needs to be understood... We can go to any cannabis grow site on the net and get our butts jumped all over because we have a difference of opinion, or, God forbid, are actually incorrect on an issue.

The founders of AFN call the moderators "protectors of the Vibe". The position here is pretty much, if it has gotten as far as an argument, somebody is missing the whole point.

There is nothing about growing this plant that should inspire anger or conflict.

We haven't accomplished anything if we drop this subject and pick up another one with the same sort of vibe. Let's do better than that.

realcarlos... sorry this broke out on your thread. Feel free to PM me and I'll be glad to help you get it sorted out.
