New Grower Jenny tries again….

The watering tip really helped me with preventing nute burn with Happy Frog.
Great advice, Friend. I saw Happy Frog and went

Thanks for the well wishes, everybody :thanks:

My 3 previous grows were in Ocean Forest. After talking to my guy at the grow shop, I decided to try Happy Frog. He said it was a little less hot than OF. I'm just going to trust my meters, take it slow on the nutes and see what happens. Fingers crossed….

Hey y'all,

HotBunz, your comments on the size (or lack thereof) got me to thinking. At what point do you call "Day #1"? Is it the day you start to germ the seeds, the day you plant, the day they show their lovely little faces? I've never been real clear on that. Interested to hear what is the norm. Thanks again :toke:

I germ using a wet paper towel in a tuperware container sitting on the top of my DVDplayer. I plant the seed once I have a root a couple mm or 1/8th inch long. I have seen pictures of people waiting till they have an inch long root to plant. Thats just crazy and risks hurting the root. Anyways I count DAY 1 once seed breaks ground and she shows her sexy little face for the first time. Day 2 is 24 hrs later. That's how I count. I have never had a sprout take more than 3 days to be above ground once planted. I noticed you said it was 5 days from once you planted to before she broke ground. How deep are you planting your seeds?

You can also cut the Happy frog with the FF Light Warrior. Light Warrior is a good mix to put a hole in the center of the Happy frog, fill the center hole with light warrior and drop your beans right into final container, without having to worry about it being too hot.

Hello Jenny :)
first i like to say my man brimans advice is awesomness and spot on. Second, i like to wish you a happy and successful grow.

I hope you did not cut down your old plants. They looked sick and effected for sure but new growth might have been back on trak cafter you fixed ph problems.

Ill be around watching your babies grow ;) GL

I used FFOF and had lots of PH problems, also. That seems to be a problem with their soil.I have done worse to plants and gotten some decent smoke, keep throwing them in the soil, and read read and read some more, all the info is here.Peace.

Hello all :toke:

Thanks again for following along. Please keep the advice and good wishes coming :thanks:

Here are my latest thoughts and concerns:

WC looks good, but Hotbunz got me to thinking about her size. Here she is today:

WCday16.JPG

By my original count, this is day #16 (day #1 was the day I dropped the germinated seed into the dirt). It took her 3 days to break the soil, so counting from then, she's on day #11. Regardless, she looks pretty similar in size to my first attempt at this strain at this stage. Fingers crossed that all is well.

Now to little PK.

This is day #4 from breaking ground. Can you see the corkscrewing of the little baby leaves? What up with that? Also, the stem is very dark purple. Is that normal or are both of these things signs of an issue? I've only spritzed tap water onto the area immediately around her. Should I be adjusting the pH? My rationale for not was that it seemed like overkill for such a small amount of H2O. Mistake?

Finally, I do think I planted the little buggers a little too deep. It might have been as much as an inch. Is that a no-no?

Anyway, hope everybody's having a great weekend! Looking forward to hearing from y'all.

:peace: Jenny
