New Grower It's beginning to get exciting

I think patience is one of the toughest challenges for any new grower! lol

I've done quite a bit of LST the past couple of days, tying down the main stem and some of the large fan leaves to expose the more important growth underneath to the light. It's doing really well now. Currently watering once every other day under an 18/6 light schedule.

Will get a few pics up in the next couple of days. Thanks for your support CC!

Day 25

Looking Good Smithers! Nice Thread!

And to think 10 days ago you thought the grow may fail - I can tell that there is no chance of that now! :)
Look good!

If you ever want to re-visit that idea of a reverse carbon filter setup to free up some space - let me know. It's something i've always done and you dont need a special filter, just need to turn your fan upside down ^_^

Have a rep slap from me for a great start! :)

:slap:

Haha! Nice one mate. I'm your typical irritating newbie grower, panicking at the slightest thing! lol But no matter how sorry it's looked at various times in these early stages, it's always come back. I got a little lost with watering for a bit and didn't know if I was under/over watering, but I'm slowly starting to get a feel for things. Started LST'ing properly too and it's exposed some nice future flowering heads to the light. I've also positioned my other 4" fan on the floor of the tent blowing gently to increase airflow and oxygen to the base of the pot. It seems to like that. :)

Thanks for all the continued help! Peace and love :peace:

Day 30 and starting to go into pre-flower :D

A lot of the photos show a redish tinge to the leaves, which I'm sure is more down to my camera phone than anything else. It looks a lot better in the flesh. The last two pics were with the flash and there's no discoloration at all.

I'm generally pleased with how she's looking, although compared to other auto ultimate grows I've seen by this stage, she's nowhere near the height or bulk. I've mentioned a few times in this thread that the plant seemed to develop a slant during the first few weeks of growth, which steadily got worse as the stem thickened. It's settled at around a 45 degree angle out the soil. It's something I should have really taken care of at the start, but I started seeing it as a blessing in disguise given my height constraints. It's kind of stunted and altered its growth to being more bushy. However I have discovered tonight that some roots are actually exposed above the soil where it's lent over. The roots didn't look damaged or rotten and were white in color, but it can't be good.

My remedial plan is to gently pull the plant back up straight from the base of the stem as far as I can without causing any damage using a padded garden tie then put a fresh covering of soil on the top, sufficient to fully re-cover the exposed roots. What do people think?

completely random, and off topic, buuuuttt, every time I see 'it's beginning to get exciting' in my head i start singing 'its beginning to look a lot like christmassssss...EEEEEEEEEEEEVERY where you go' lol

Now...see, I go to this:

I know....super cheesy. Just what happens.

Smithers, they look excellent! I have to try that one that sometime. But I repeat myself.

I would just toss a stake in it and tie it loosely to the stake to as straight as you can stand. It will only tip
more when she gets fruit on her. If you can stop her movement now, the stems and buds will grow from where
they are so all it good.

Tossing some soil on top is a great idea as well. You can add soil up to her first set of leaves if you want. It won't hurt anything and you may get a few more roots.

Haha! I've had that song on repeat in my internal jukebox ever since i read your reply this morning lol!

I've tried changing the topic title to something more relevant to what I'm growing but can't seem to find a way.

Well I've strapped her up and laid some fresh soil down so lets see how she develops from here. I originally filled my pot with the soil right to the brim, but didn't pack it down so it was obviously very loose. As time has gone on the level has dropped a good 3-4 inches! That could be why the plant started growing crooked in the first place.

She certainly won't break any records in the yield department, but i reckon the buddage will be sweet. The NEXT grow will be DYNAMITE. HUGE! :D
