No, it was £Sd (lsd). D was for pence. There were 240 pence in a pound! A shilling was 12 pence, I think 2 shillings was called a florin.

When they changed the money they shilling became the 5p and the florin 10p. That way the old folks weren't so confused because there was still 20 shillings in a pound. I asked me old man to explain it once, that's about all I can remember.

I believe that when the standard was £= 1 pound of silver and shillings were 1/20 of a bar........fck knows about pence.......shillings were made out of scrap silver .......last bits a lie i just made that up cause it sounds plausible[emoji111]
