Is breeding hermies bad?

Hi everyone,i got this plant ages ago that made a male flower and polinated itself and some other femlaes around it and i have been using those seeds since then for about 4 generations and each time i end up with just a few seeds in each plant and end up with enough seeds to grow more,and the weeds strong as hell some people even have panic attacks n stuff lol

I bred them from paradise seed's auto strains and most likely they are a mix of auto acid/white berry and another one i cant remember. It's been like 4 generations now and i like the weed and its consistant and the couple of seeds i get doesn't bother me or anyone else. Are these hermies? How come they only make like 1 or 2 male flowers? I've only ever seen the male flowers a couple of times around the bottom of the plants. To me it seem's really great i get strong weed and also seeds for free and i can breed it with other strains too? I dunno i love it lol.

The only problem with hermies are the seeds. If they don't bother you and aren't for sale, you're fine. [emoji106] [emoji2]

I think its cool if it works for you. Just let anyone know that if they get a seed it could be a herm, up to you how detailed you want to be about it.

The people i share it with don't/can't grow they just like the weed and i've told them how it is im breeding them now and they seem fine with it there was just 1 guy i forgot to warn about it and he put some in a grinder and ended up with an exploding seed in a joint lmfao. It really doesn't bother me because i do bongs and i use my fingers to break up the buds carefully into the bowl so 99 times out of 100 i find the seeds. That reminds me of something.....i smoked a bowl last week and there was a seed in it because i heard it pinging around when i tapped the ash fro the bowl into the ashtray....i took it out and for a laugh i decided to try and germinate it.....now this seed had been in a glowing red bowl of weed being torched with a butane lighter.....i put 3 other seeds in along with it......i checked 2 days later and the first one to pop a root was the burnt one and it's in my tent growing right now lol.

Yeah, there's nothing wrong with the flowers from hermied plants. The only difference is that you'll find seeds in them and some people don't like it. Kinda like seeded watermelon. [emoji6]

Yes they are "hermies" AKA plants with varying degrees of intersex traits AKA monoecious just on the low end of the male flower spectrum

I have noticed something interesting about my seeds. If i grow them in an overly hot environment (30c / 35c) they will fox-tail heavily and produce many many seeds. If they are grown in a normal environment they only produce like 1 or 2 seeds per plant(average),some might not have any whilst other might have a few more like 3-5. Either way it seems they don't produce anywhere near enough seed's to ruin a crop unless you change the environment to be stressful in some way,in this case it's definitely heat that can turn them into a seed producing crop.

I found out personally by doing a few grows with not enough ventilation and too much light lol. At first i was paranoid the seeds were messed up by inbreeding hermies or something but then realised the temps were too high in the tent.After gradually lowering the temperature over the course of 4/5 crops i noticed that seed production has dramatically reduced,the smell of the stuff is 100x stronger, really stinky again and no weird looking fox-taily buds full of seeds. Definetly don't grow in a hot enviroment it effected the quality of my weed ,the smell was weak and i noticed the potency had dropped a little bit aswell.

I imagine in some cases (I.E. a genetic abnormality, as opposed to self pollenating), it could degrade the THC or CBD content. But if the only issue is a pollen sac or two, and that plant was good, then there is no reason it cannot be as good, in my opinion.

I notice no difference in potency between the plants that have a couple of seeds ( like 5 in the whole plant) and the ones that do not. BUT! I recently had a bad experience where something different happened and i got a LOT of seeds, don't know if one of the plants made more male flowers than usual due to the light cycle being messed a bit but i ended up with every plant having a decent amount of seeds in it i would have preferred not to have! lol I noticed that this weed, in the buds that were most riddled with the seeds, DID have a lower potency (in my opinion) than the rest of the plant that had none or very few. It was a very very different pattern of seeding to what i normally see. Usually my seeds will only be at the very bottom of the plant in the worst buds furthest from the light and get only maybe a a few of them, this time the seeds were all over the buds and it was like the outside of the bud was effected more than the inside making me feel that they got pollinated later on by some weird rogue male flower. All of the seed's from that pollination i'm discarding because i don't trust them the way i trust all my others that have been growing fine now for a couple of years the same way with this not happening.
