Day 39

These plants are small, but they sure are tough! They have endured a string of 100 plus daysand have shown no signs of stress. I may have to grow Mephisto every summer!

I am encouraged by the Mephisto vets noting that the stretch is still in play and the buds fatten at a crazy rate. So maybe I can get a decent supply of night time meds, as my Night Queen is running low!

Looking good there boss!! I got a CDLC going on now in a Macdonalds cup in the micro grow section. I'm liking the mephisto gear so far!! Keep up the good grow man!!

I use mason jars for curing my dried flower.
I have a fluffy Dark devil and a full half gallon I’d close to 30 gr. I have always been able to fit about 60-70 gr of most good strains like DP and Fastbuds in them. Currently running Mephisto for the first time and both my Northern Cheese haze and Forgotten cookies get about 90-100 gr in a half gallon jars. Flowers for me were overall smaller than other breeders but have been hard solid frost covered gems.

Although I did get s smoke report back from the NCH that a friend said it had no taste or smell. I think he might have been stoned lol. If you have a healthy grow I think the weight will be there in the end.

Thanks FB! Yes, usually I can tell what is gonna happen at this point in flower, but based on all this feedback clearly Mephisto has a better mid/late flowering push than my DP plants. That's sounds awesome. I am counting on this grow to produce my night time meds for a while, at least through my fall grow, so it wouldn't be great to get 6 ounces off the two of them. Sounds like that still may happen!

Thanks Rivet! Trying to do what I can to pack the buds on these smaller plants. I think the defoliation helped me, judging by the bud growth in a few days. Good strong plants for sure. It will all come down to the yield and smoke quality, though.

TBH bro, I think the defol was a little too much for them, and you stunted them just a touch anyways. I am surprised at the size in your set up, but yes, Mephisto do run a little late in stretching and fattening up, so there is still lots of time. I just think you overdid it a bit. There is more ruderalis genes in the Mephisto strains than the DP, and it is more susceptible to the defoliation process.

You know I love your setup, and this is not in any way a knock on how you do your thing, but maybe , just maybe this time, you went over the line...

There will be good meds coming. I think a couple ounces each is a more realistic number, three is pushing it I think. I am very curious as the the flavors on the special edition lady for sure! Looking forward to see them bulk up soon.

You know I always value your opinion, Med, but I disagree this time. I know you said the same thing during the Night Queen grow, and adviced that I factor it in during the next grow. I did that and laid off the heavy defol with the Glueberry, which by size, number of bud sites, and overall good girth, should have out yielded the Night Queens. It was a perfect grow. Environment was spot on, no nute or ph issue, I had UVB and flower and terpene boosters. Everything went perfectly.

However, the buds just didn't stack quite like the NQ and didn't weigh as much as they should have. After that experiment, I decided to go back to the Iriee scissor hands technique! Lol! Since I have defoled just last week, I have seen the best growth, both in terms of vertical growth and Bud density. This week has actually made me more hopeful that I will get more from the plants.

Just a week ago, I was worried I wouldn't get an ounce, but now they are taking off. Shoot I even tied down BT2 which wasn't even a possibility last week. Check them out, man.
