Indoor Iriee Vibez grows Blue Toof & DP Lemon Zkittle outdoors

I also read a lot about defoliation methods and benefits before I committed, and this is what I believe.

Defoliation during veg just urges the plants to grow more leaves. Often times, you are fighting a losing battle and it will delay flowering. During flowering, however, the plant is already trying to put all its energy towards growing buds, but those big fans require a lot of nutrients and energy also, because they are trying to do their photosynthesis thing. Bless them. Even though, the plant really doesn't need it. In nature, plants grow extra leaves to protect from all sorts of things. In a cabinet, most aren't necessary.

You take them out of the mix and the plant is really concentrating on bud making. In addition, buds need direct light to be their best, which is why lowers get loose and larfy. When exposed to direct light during this phase, they are getting all they need to grow, become dense, and stack up.

People often don't realize that buds absorb and use light in very much the same way as fan leaves. So, I would rather trade in fans for buds if they do the same thing. I also believe that having the roots always in a nutrient rich reservoir makes stuff very accessible to the growing buds. They really don't need all those leaves as much as a plant in soil may to feed itself.

Well that's my story and I am sticking to it, until proven otherwise.

This is a very important point for those watching this...IV grows in deep water culture and he does it perfectly...don't try this if you grow in coco or soil, it would be too much on the plants. Leave a couple fans up top on each cola for those applications.

Great job though here bro! Looking forward to seeing how they bounce back.

wow that defoliation got my attention ! Mind if I grab a chair and start taking notes ?

Hey Mesa! Welcome, man! I will post regular updates, so we can watch the progress.

Thanks Med! I knew the major defol would shock a few peeps! I am hoping for some converts when the buds fatten!

Day 37

Exactly three days since the defoliation we've been discussing, look s like they have benefited from it in a short time, the tiny leaves are now regular sized leaves, and the buds are noticeably bigger and better stacking than they were just three days ago. I can visibly see the growth in buds that I am sure would not have been as dramatic without them having access to direct sunlight over the past few days.

Lemon Zkittlez doing well outside. 101 degrees the last couple days and no relief! I have them under the shade of a shorter palm tree, and they seem to be okay with it!

haha exactly ! I was just minding my own business casually scrolling though some pic's and BAM ! I got hit by some sorta crazy going on in here :crying:

I like to fancy my self as a leaf plucker, but you're on the next level.

@MedCzech ty for the soil cautionary :bighug:

Lol! That's funny, man. Well glad you visited, and congrats on the first leg contest, Mesa. That was a beautiful plant!

Yeah, I would be far more careful with my clipper activity if I grew in soil. I can take more chances with DWC, as it is much quicker to correct stuff.
