Grow Room Insulate the grow room?

Speaking of fire proofing a grow room, I had an ideal about plastic bags full of the powder in a extinguishers. Then if a fire ever happened you would only lose the crop.
Yes, might be useful if a fire happened to start on the floor or the plants start burning. I presume the most risks for fire are electrical fires, with lights and fans the prime suspects. But bags dropping fire extinguisher powder will likely not doing anything for these fires. Otherwise, how/what will release suspended powder before it's too late? If the bag has to melt to release the powder, there is likely already flames and the fire is spreading.

See that looks really nice and would save me a ton for sure. My fear is the space above mine is a bedroom so fires scare the shit out of me. I know fire code is saying you have to have a layer of sheet rock to cover the foam board so now i have to frame shit fully in. And add insulation $$$$ lol.
I've been in the same room now for over a year. But if you have a fire in grow room the drywall won't stop much anyways.

Well my thoughts were the lights and electrical components are most likely to catch fire and they would only be inches from light, therefore killing fire before it's gone to far.

Edit: I see you’ve addressed above.

Talk to us about that. Like you mention, I have a habit of feeling power cords and the equipment for heat. Even though I know I’m not overloading the circuits.

I've saw too many horror stories of grow room fires to take a chance. I even replace my electric heaters yearly, fans twice a year. Probably time to buy new timers also.

This!!! OMG thank you. I found it at my local hardware store and it is the same price as what i was looking at. Just much more fire resistant.
Happy I could help, and you helped me learn more about my current set up.

Hey I wanted to add something while you’re planning your room. Electrical outlets....add more than you think you’ll need (plan your circuits accordingly) and place at waist high or higher. I did this but have one too many outlets but it’s there if needed.
