Insects: The good, The Bad, and the Bugly

Hey guys scouring the net to get a positive ID on this one I don't have a great camera like some you fellas but I could try to get a better pic if needed.

I am in North America. Insect is roughly 3/8" long.
They do not appear to damage anything but I worry that they are leaving larvae around or something. They are pretty smart too. If I'm looking around my plants, they will hide from my line of sight. They can hop and fly.

Edit: I am really worried now, I just saw them pooping out what looked like little white drops onto the soil while they chilled on my main stem.

Hate to quote myself lol, but it's relevant. I believe this to be a true bug. Still unsure if it is detrimental to cannabis. Thought it was a stink bug, but no stink

I was looking at your pic, but unsure what species it was...maybe waira can ID it when he shows up again.

That'd be fantastic as I'm kinda worried about my first outdoor harvest having all kinds of bug on it. My gut tells me it's not affecting the plants.

More importantly, what are your plants telling you? Visible signs of damage? Its actually quite bothersome as i have seen that bug before, but cant think where.

Thanks for trying to help me here buddy. I'm new to growing, relatively speaking and even newer to autos. To make matters more complex, these plants were somewhat stunted after transplant from hydro to soil. It's been rough okay lol!
Bottom line is, I think that they are thriving quite well, despite a rough start. I've had more trouble with leaves yellowing than anything else.

Looks like you are in the clear as far as bug damage goes...i don't see any!! Looks to me like she could use a PK boost and some cal mag....again hopefully @Waira (infirmary specialist) will pop by soon, and he will let you know whats up with the yellowed leaves....i have never been the best at nutrient deficiencies.

:toke: Archi'-- that's a leafhopper species mate, classic evasion response too! They are sap suckers, and will lay eggs too, so kill on sight! :amazon:..the liquid ejected is waste + excess water from the sap sucking,...
... yeah I'm with GS here, she needs more PK, P defc. mainly showing in the yellowing uppers,.. looks like N defc. but that almost always starts on lowers first and worst,...

>>> L0wbob'-- thanks man,.. but I'm not quite following... zoom out? ... mark how, drag the dash-line into the area I want blown up?.. I'll tinker and see if I can finger it out,... :pass:

Thanks 912GS and Waira. I failed to mention I have been flushing for a week or so at this point. Trichs are about 30%amber. You know sometimes we overcompensate for things? Well my first plant I got nitrogen toxicity pretty bad. I was maybe too careful with these guys.
Any tips how to catch these fuckers lol they are fast and smart!

Though my leafhoppers are a different species, here is how i try to catch them. Cup one hand around the backside of the plant, Then use the other hand and start to move toward the bug until it moved away to the back of the plant toward your other hand. The try to grab it and it will likely fly right into the cupped other hand...squish and done...good luck, those rainbow leafhoppers are a son of a bitch to catch

 Speed and Ninja fingers!.... I see little leaf damage, and they certainly don't mess with bud, so there's no point in worrying about it this close to harvest..
