Okay so I hope what I did is okay. I looked for a while about defoliation. Everything I read said don't remove much, I removed approx 10-15 percent of the lower leaves and a few large ones towards the top that were blocking all the bud sites. These plants are on the beginning of their 5 week and have been flowering for about a week. I did some minor lst today and tied some bud stems towards the outside of the tent.
I hope they recover I didn't know if this was too late into veg/beginning of budding to tie stems over like I did.
I didn't want to take the large fan leaves off but I tuck them everyday down low and they literally will make their way all the way back to their normal spot. They were blocking lots of bud sites. So in combination of all the popcorn nug removal way down low and all the fan leaves removed plus getting tied down they don't become fussy.
They responded very well to their feeding of water, the twist leaves are fixing themselves and the bent leaf tips are correcting. I know so far these autos have been fussy but only because I didn't follow every single "auto" rule so far.
Pic from Friday night so let's call this day 33, growing slowing a little bit. The tallest girl is 22.5 inches and still growing 1 inch per night. Buds starting to come in will begin bloom nutes on Monday.
Well they were slowing down growing one inche per day. I started bloom nutes yesterday an they banged out 2 inches in 24 hours. Great growth, not great....I usually like to have 30 inches between my light and canopy, all growth from here on out with be cutting into that 30 inch buffer.
