hey i don't know whether this thread is still alive but i thought i'd post here before starting a whole new thread, i have a few questions which i hope you guys can help me clear up! firstly how do you water seedlings before they have a properly established root system? Do you just water the medium from the top until you are confident that the roots are getting to your solution? How high should your water level be in relation to the bottom of your pot/medium and should you change the water level as the roots grow downwards? also i've found some clay balls to use as my medium however they are pretty small (about 1/4 the size of the examples i've seen on here) and i was wondering whether this would be an issue? Finally i know you dont want to blast your baby with nutes straight away so is it a good idea to just use plain ph'd water and then switch to a weak solution say 1/4 strength after a few days to a week? Sorry for my noob questions any help is much appreciated!
Oh yer i forgot maybe the most important question! how on earth do you plant a germed seed in clay balls?? how deep for example or is it a good idea to germ in rock wool and then bury that in the clay balls?
Cheers all!

Cheers for the reply bro! yer am scanning the threads as we speak and i've found lots of useful stuff! Answered most of my questions but still unclear about a few things specifically about planting and caring for your baby in the early days. Hopefully one of the knowledge guru's will come along and all will be well!

for DWC ... drop your beans in water of 72-75 maybe 78 degrees F ... wait 24 hrs /or till they sink ... place knobly bit up about 2cm deep into a 1" rockwool cube thats been drpped in the same water for 20 secs (gently squeez so not water logged) .. place in airthigt container with high humidity ... wait for sprout ..open container... place 1" of pebbles in net pot ... place in cube with seedling soon as tap root shows at the bottom ... fill gently with more pebbles .. fill res so its just above the base of net pot ... full strength root stim & up EC to 1.0 ish (0.8-1.2 maybe?)with light base veg nute ,for weeks 1-2 ... then up EC-0.2 each week
