hey i don't know whether this thread is still alive but i thought i'd post here before starting a whole new thread, i have a few questions which i hope you guys can help me clear up! firstly how do you water seedlings before they have a properly established root system? Do you just water the medium from the top until you are confident that the roots are getting to your solution? How high should your water level be in relation to the bottom of your pot/medium and should you change the water level as the roots grow downwards? also i've found some clay balls to use as my medium however they are pretty small (about 1/4 the size of the examples i've seen on here) and i was wondering whether this would be an issue? Finally i know you dont want to blast your baby with nutes straight away so is it a good idea to just use plain ph'd water and then switch to a weak solution say 1/4 strength after a few days to a week? Sorry for my noob questions any help is much appreciated!
Oh yer i forgot maybe the most important question! how on earth do you plant a germed seed in clay balls?? how deep for example or is it a good idea to germ in rock wool and then bury that in the clay balls?
Cheers all!
