New Grower I'm ready for soil and nutrients! I need opionions on what nutrients to use :-)

Muddy, you are a plethora of information! I will use sunshine without adding anything. I want to control the nutrients so I understand the growth better. Once I get the hang of this I will experiment with other concoctions. This settles my uneasiness with what media to use. Tomorrow I will chat with the shop owner about what nutrients to use. I probably will not purchase nutes tomorrow since I'm on a strict budget. I will probably purchase them online anyways because they are a bit cheaper.

Thanks, that's why we have this forum, to help new growers like yourself. Two things I would recommend you get are a calcium/magnesium supplement (cal/mag), and a bloom booster that is high in P and K, like PK13.14 from Atami. Cal/mag and P deficiencies can happen growing in a soil less media like Sunshine #4 and it's good to have them on hand in case one happens. If you have to order them the delay could effect your plants. Also, something to think about when dealing with hydro store personnel. Chances are they have never grown autos and probably don't understand that they are different from growing photos. Often they will try to talk someone out of buying what we've recommended because it doesn't fit with their knowledge of growing photos.
