New Grower Illini4life20. Perpetual grow. Primarily Mephisto beans

I'm calling it on beast mode and gorilla blue. They are stunted from something, and I don't want to worry about miniature plants my whole grow. I'm slowly bringing down the light cycle to 18/6 as I think that may be the culprit here. I've got a replacement Gorilla Blue germing right now, and instead of dealing with the beast mode germ issues I'm once again switching strains on ya... I will be running a Seedsman's White Widow in its place. I'll update more as I get moving more.

The white widow from seedsman was the first genetics I ever ran, along with zkittlez, but I was using a cheap nute regimen. This run will be with MegaCrop and Bud Explosion from Greenleaf Nutrients. Even with the cheap trio I used I was able to pull some dam fine girls, and the smoke definitely packed a punch. With some higher quality nutes and a bit more experience I think I can put that first run of these girls to shame.

I'll post the daily updates of the girls until I yank those two, still debating about keeping them and throwing them outside on my deck for a free for all. Probably won't give them too much attention and let them go if I do that, but then again I might just yank them from their pots and not worry about new pots for the new plants. Still up in the air atm, but I've got about a day or two to decide so we shall see. It's really cold, unusually so for the time of year, so that's my major reservation with just pawning these off to the outdoors right now or else they would have already been taken out.

Already got the other beans dropped. At this same point last round even Grapey Walter is way behind. Something is off, maybe low humidity, temps, idk, but I'm not that far in to restart. Megabuds kinda scared me a bit with the dicey runs I have seen others have on here. White widow is one of my favorite strains I have smoked, I'll have to invest into a good blue dream strain one of these days to get my fix

Day 16: Mephisto Grapey Walter
Day 12: Megabuds Beast Mode
Day 8: Advanced Seeds Gorilla Blue

Temp: 70-75°f
RH: 45%
Light Cycle: 22/2
Light Height: 22 inches
Water: 1,500 ml Grapey Walter
1,000 ml Beastmode
750 ml Gorilla blue
Nutes: 2 g/gallon MegaCrop 2.1 9-6-17 NPK

So I gave the girls a feed yesterday after deciding to see if they were ready for feed. I'm still planning on pulling gorilla blue and beast mode when I have germ on the two replacements. Till then I am just observing. After 24 hours literally all the girls seemed to have loved the feed. Even the little runt gorilla blue seems to have ramped up her production. At two weeks last round I was looking at third nodes and lateral branching like I'm seeing on grapey, these other two don't look like they are tracking on that same pace. They could be slow starters but I don't really want to take the risk. Just to be cautious I'm going to be smart instead of wasting my time.

More logistical.. been slowly bringing the light down, currently at 22 in above tops. Also bringing the light cycle down by like 30 mins a day in order to not shock Grapey who has been on 24/0 light since germ. Hopefully by the time the next replacement beans are popping I'll be down to 18/6 light cycle that I think the girls will appreciate. I think without the rest, any stress to the plants is enough to stunt these girls and with them being autos I would prefer to see them thrive especially at this crucial veg stage

Check the girls, let me know what you think! Till next time... :pass:

She looks burnt dude. Like yellow and not appealing. I would normally agree but really I don't want to be in for a crazy surprise if something is going on. I've got my other seeds germing right now. Should be ready soon I hope!

Day 17: Mephisto Grapey Walter
Day 13: Megabuds Beast Mode
Day 0: Advanced Seeds Gorilla Blue

Temp: 75-80°f
RH: 40-45%
Light Cycle: 20/4
Light Height: 21 inches
Water: 1 gallon to water down gorilla blue pot
Nutes: None

So I pulled gorilla blue and popped her replacement beans, already sprouted a nice tap root in less than 48 hours of germ. Still silent on my white widow that's supposed to be taking over Beast Mode. Grapey Walter is doing great, and starting to really develop the lateral branching. I expect we will see the explosion into real veg here in the next couple days.

On another note, I did some massive work today to try and get my environment more squared away, and so far the girls are sitting in a much more comfortable temp even on this cold night we are having here.

Peep the girls and let me know what you think. Till next time... :pass:

I think even though it's only been a few grows that I'm going to be upgrading my lights. I got a decent "blurple" when they were at their prime and I have grown some decent buds but I think it's time to upgrade to the true full spectrum LEDs. I have had my eye on a Mars Hydro light for a minute and I think I'm ready to jump on it. I attached a link below to check it out if anyone is interested. I was originally going to build my own LED quantum boards but this one is everything I want and more. It has the perfect ppfd for flower in my tent size, and its able to cover my area in a way my light will never be able to. I am going to switch the lights this round whenever they arrive. I'm going to probably order today at some point, so if anyone has any other suggestions for lights in the $250 price range, it's cheaper direct from Mars Hydro on their website, then I am all ears!

So to really cement this idea... Stimulus check arrived, aka upgrade time. Been good since I have invested about $200 into new equipment already this round, eg pH meter, bubble res, etc. With this "extra" free money I feel a little better and my wife can stop hounding me about my purchase patterns now :crying: :pass:
