I did it! Thanks for the nudge. I have a cool mist humidifier that should bring up the humidity and maybe bring the temps down a couple degrees. Will report on impact in coming days.
My well water here is too hard for an ultrasonic humidifier. I wind up with a faint white dust all over everything as the calcium deposits with the mist. I got an evaporative type, so the only thing that goes into the air is water and whatever dissolved volatile components are in the water. All dissolved solids stay behind (and also foul the take-up sponge sooner or later).

My ambient environment is around 30-40 RH, and the humidifier keeps the tent between 50 and 60. Not ideal, but close enough for 80F average temp.

I run a dehumidifier in the room also. My garden is in my bedroom is in my office. The Dehu helps keep it comfortable. The water I collect I can put right back into the tent humidifier, or distill for use in nutrient solutions. It is very low in dissolved solids so going straight back into the humidifier means the take-up sponge will last a lot longer. If I am using it for nutrient solution, I run it through the still and then a carbon filter to clean it up completely, and the carbon will pick up any volatile organic components.

Good luck with the grow!

EDIT: Meant to point out that the still stays very clean too. No more descaling it every month.

Thanks for the knowledge, Mike! I appreciate it, and will keep a close eye on this going forward in the grow.

The low humidity from the last two 100 degree days definitely affected both plants, especially the critical purple. Some of the new growth leaves are twisted and misshapen , which I suspect is because of the high heat/low humidity environment, coupled with the res change. Bad timing and humidity management.

I set up the humidifie, and the rh is now over 40. The plants seem to be looking better this evening, Hopefully, they are through the worse.

Cheers Budz. I am learning a lot and having a great time.

Definite signs of stress but even so I'm loving those fat leaves and she's clearly compensating

From the look of them they will probably end up stretching only a little and they r nice chunky plants mate I think he’s only 20 some days in [emoji12][emoji636]

Thnaks for the encouraging words, guys. Yeah they for sure have been affected by the heat and humidity. Hopefully, they have some time to recover and at least give me a little height. Humidity has been at 50% since I put the humidifier in. Wish I did that a couple weeks ago! Still having a blast, though!
