New Grower I probably should have waited until fall...

Question to the support team:

Should I and can I switch back to 18 hours when the heatwave is over? I have been reading mixed opinions on this.

Yes, no worries. The autos are ok with it, but I wouldn't do it too often. In your case, you are fine.

Excellent, thanks Med! What's your theory on how much final bud weight will be affected if it stays at 12 hours? Some on here believe, there would be no loss if done during flowering, while others feel it would impact bud growth significantly.

Doesn't matter what anyone thinks, because each grow is unique. I have seen plants that looked like they were better left for dead then put out awesome buds, I have seen great looking plants produce inferior product in quality.
Keep the positive energy around your grow where it needs to be. Do the best you can, and somehow the plants know bro.
They may take a little longer to finish IMO,but they should give you something for sure.

There are so many variables in any given grow that it would be nearly impossible to pinpoint one as a cause for smaller or larger yields. Just keep your girls comfortable, well fed and they will reward you.

Thanks for the solid feedback, gents!

Came home to some happy plants today after a high of 102! This 12 hour light cycle is working really well. As an added bonus, both plants have started to flower, so I plan to add some big bud to the res during the next feeding. There was a time when I was worried whether the plants would stretch or not, now I am just focused on maximizing this important flowering stage. I think the new light schedule was identified and implemented just in time for that.
