The house isn't hot but the lights are.

I have a similar problem. I think my exhaust is too powerful for my grow space so humidity goes right down when on.
If you work from home and spend a lot of time at home, I would just knock the exhaust off for a couple of hours every few hours. The humidity will go up, but will come back down quickly when you switch the exhaust back on.
It's what I've done for my first and second grows. Seems to be working just fine.
I'm not a techie so try to keep it as simple as possible. When my exhaust fan does break down, I'll get a smaller one then.

I use an inbird controller for intake ... along with an axial control on exhaust. I don't try to do more than keep temps within parameters. In actuality, I'm growing in outside environment in a tent.

Without the exhaust fan running the temp is reaching upper 80s now that the day has warmed up. I've been misting the sides of my tent a few times today. It's keeping humidity about 46 ish.
Humidifier and fan controller ordered. I'll be playing with it again when we turn the house AC on. She's such a pretty sprouting.

Day 4. I guess I'm doing ok. :woohoo1:

Personally I would never ever ever set my exhaust fan to intermitted use. I leave mine on all the time, 24/7. Plants need a lot of air, they breathe just like most living things. It also stresses fans to be turned on and off all the time.

Why not just leave it on?

That's what's happening now. It's just hard to keep humidity up. But we have a humidifier and fan controller on the way just in case we need it when the ac comes on.
A huge complication is my need for stable house temperature around 68 degrees. The progressive degenerative nerve disease I have effects my body temp and overheating cause a drastic and quick flair of symptoms.
For now it running continuously with 75 degrees and 45 % humidity. I am spraying the inside bottom of tent a couple times a day with water. I think I'm happy with. It. I don't want to over fiddle with it.

You're probably right, but it's difficult to keep the humidity up when the exhaust is on all the time. It then means that a humidifier needs to be used.
