Yes you can , ugly plant of the month .:woohoo1::woohoo1::woohoo1::woohoo1:
Too right Henco.
Yeah, but you didn't have to pay a fortune to the dude down the street for all those little buds...I like it...
Yeah Doug25 you can never beat your own meds. Well unless its come from someone on the AFN.
Craaazy dude lol what a freak! I think you'll still get a nice yield off her and at least she's loaded with trikes! :smoking:
Good to see u Grimm  have a good one brother.
Hi Jayar
Thanks for the comment.
Id say about 2-3 oz if im lucky man.
Smells unreal though.
I am excited about the potential... a 2 meter HBSS, now we know it can be done.
Counting buds to fall asleep... 1001, 1002.....
Yeah man i would really love to grow her out again except do what i did to the Auto Euphoria.

Week: 14 - Day: 98

Yesterday after a total of 14 weeks the Hubbabubbasmellsoscope was finally chopped and trimmed.
The plant had been flushed for about 7 days with plain PH'd water and cleansed for one day prior using CANNA Flush.

Mostly all the leaves had died back and bud development and maturity had clearly come to a stop.
Through out the plants entire life cycle this seemed to be the point where it drank the least amount of water.
Seems that she was finishing up weather i liked it or not.

This plant was a record breaker in the indoor garden for height this year as she came in at a height of 208cm.
All other growth had completely stopped at this stage and the plants final spread came in at 100cm.

Surprisingly enough this plants pungent fragrance is incredibly intense for a hydroponic grown plant.
Without CANNA Boost and the beneficial microbe tea this wouldn't have been possible.

The smell of this bud is amazing she was an absolute pleasure to harvest because of the beautiful sweet bubblegum floral aromas.

The bud devolpment was smaller than expected but things are only getting dialed in.
Each and every bud had vast amounts of resin coating the entire flower.

You can see the results from the Grow Northerns HS1 and the Advanced Nutrients Bud Factor X in this close up shot.

Look at the massive explosion of THC all over the plant material.
Trichomes have all gone from clear to cloudy with a very few turning amber, the perfect combination.

You can see how close she got to the LED by the burning on the sweet leaves.
Even though she was torched like this it didn't seem to have a negative effect on resin production.

The roots after being submerged in water for 12 weeks are heavily stained but this not due to rot.

There was a rich and complex sweet, earthy smell just like soil from this root mass.
This is a good sign that the tea was doing its job as it means that microbes were abundant in the rhizosphere.

Nutrient Solution:

  • PH: 5.8
  • EC: 0.0 ( 0.3)
  • Temp: 18 C

Environment:

  • Lights On: 25-26 C
  • Lights OFF: 20-21 C
  • RH%: 30-40%

Very interesting grow, thanks for documenting it in detail.
We both had delayed flowering with HBSS that seemed to be caused by excess nitrogen, is that right?

Your 14 week finish is especially interesting, some people would complain because they want a quick finish, but
I like the choice of stressing HBSS to a longer finish. Great potential for pushing the limits.
Do you think you can intentionally repeat the long finish?

Nice job grim! Slightly smaller but more plentiful buds makes for an easy harvest, dry and cure.
I think you're right, hbss has great potential for some lst. That bubblegum smell really is something
:slap:
Owe you a slap when the rep buttons back!

Damn, that's a serious root ball !

Those buds look nice bro :pass:
Hi MediScrogs

Hi HubbaBubba
Thank you for following its always nice to have people watching a journal and I appreciate it.
Personally for me there were quite a few factors that might have delayed the HBSS.
You are right though one of the biggest errors I made was administrating too much Nitrogen.
Seems this plant was very sensitive to Nitrogen as I never gave her anymore than 2ml per L. ( week-medium feed)

After looking inside the bucket once the plant had been harvested I noticed a lot of small broken roots lining along the bin.
These were the feeder roots and they were getting blown away by the amount of air I had in the system.
Initially the plant was getting 80L of air per minute divided by two air stones that were both lined into the one bucket.
That's 40L of air per minute in each stone which is over kill as the recommend amount of air for one bucket is between 15-20LPM.
The feeder roots being blasted like this made sure the plant wasn't stunned as such but affected the growth rate tremendously.

Lastly at the very start of this grow for about 4 weeks I was adding too much in the way of Bactor which is the active bacillus bacteria in the microbe tea.
Like an idiot, I was calculating a rate of 55L which is incorrect because the the 55L buckets only hold up to a level of 35L.
This point the bacteria would have become anaerobic due to potentially having too many type of microbes.
This would have really slowed down any rooting production and along with everything else I think these were all key elements as to why the plant took so long to finish and had pretty small results.

All in all I think I could manage to do it again, even with the factors in place I do think the 55L DWC bins have a part to play.Because of the size of the bins it takes the main tap root quite some time to reach the bottom of the pot. We know from reading information on here and other sources that autoflower's instantly flower once the main tap root reaches the bottom. Its like the 55L system is almost tricking the autoflower genetics and allowing them to veg for some time longer.
Just have a look at my Auto Euphoria journal, I corrected any issues from this HBSS journal so she has had no problems so far and is only starting to flower now since week 8.

Thanks for you comment and sorry for the long rant.

Thanks Sanguine
Id love to grow her out again just to LST her and correct all the mistakes that were made.
She has the potential to have a massive yield if done correctly.
