Harvested, Dried and Curing
So it took a week to chop Think Big. Sat down for 2 hours a night for 6 days and it was finally over with. The buds were trimmed down nicely and then popped into brown paper bags and left to dry in the dark at a relatively low RH%.
After a couple of days drying the buds were taken out of the brown paper bags and placed into the curing jars with a boveda 62 pack in each jar. The buds came in at a RH% of 58% but that gradually worked its way up over the last few days to 62%. This is the way i like to dry bud as it require no burbing and does not effect the quality of the smoke or make it harsh at all.
Bud density is very good this time, much better compared to previous grows using the GN HS1.
The buds have a nice thick formation and are not airy which is something i wasn't expecting.
A small amount grinds out beautifully and plentiful, usually I only get one blunt from what i put into the grinder but this time i got enough for two. Still not on Par with a 600w HPS but then again the plant was only grown under 300w of LED.
The aroma from Think Big now that she has dried has changed something immensely. She went from smelling like pure zesty lime to bubblegum and lime and now that shes in the jars she smells like White Widow crossed with Think Different with slight Blueberry undertones.
Some mistakes were made along the way and id love the chance to grow this strain out again knowing what i know now. I also feel like fighting root rot constantly is something that is holding back the plants grown in this system. The teas work and they keep the plant alive and fighting but i feel this isn't optimum for the plant and wont give the best results.
From now on il be growing in a sterile bucket using a chiller and see if that changes things. Im honestly hoping for much higher yields and if this doesn't fix the problem then i do not know what i am doing wrong.
Final Dry Weight: 247g
My next grow has just gone under way its a 12 pot RDWC Dutch Passion mulit strain grow. Il post the link once i get the thread up. Im also starting a thread for a single pot 55L DWC Mephisto SODK which will start once the chiller arrives. Thank you all for following and i hope to see you for the next adventure.
