Hey there. test running some things before my state turns full legal. So i got a coolgrows 24x48x60 tent and it is amazing for the price. It has double tubes everywhere and 3 screened vents on 3 sides of bottom. So i have a 4 inch inline fan hanging at the top with ducting taking the air out and away from tent into tent room. The room is about 15x5 foot. It does have windows but all windows have been covered with light proof curtains. I am in a sunny state that gets hot during day. I keep my house AC on 75 90% of the time. and then i will drop it to 70 during that hot time of day but inside it really never passes 75 or 76.
No matter what the inside of my tent, top bottom sides everywhere varies between 78-83. 83 during hot time of day. I also have a very small clip on fan that move the air at the bottom of the tent.
the humidity stays around 40-50 percent.

I moved the tent away from the curtains/windows to the house-core most side of and that didnt seem to do much. I have 4 of those small cheap hydrometers and 1 caliber IV one and they are all reading similar results.

The lighting is just a 4 bulb 4 foot HO t5 that is 24/0 right now. It doesnt produce much heat, if anything it would be the housing nearest the inline fan intake that does that.

The odd thing is that when i stick my hand under the light it feels like a nice 75ish. it literally feels perfect.

How can i counter this heat or is the only option to run my ac a little lower?

I am not an expert here, but consistent 78-83˚F sounds OK.

If others advise that your range is too hot, then there seems to be no alternative than to boost the air conditioning, lower the temperature of the air being drawn in. If needed, consider buying and putting in a cheap used window AC, with this likely more cost-efficient vs. turning-down the whole house AC temp. setting.

If your 4" fan has a speed controller, turn it up.. Having clip fans at the bottom of the tent with no plants in it, is just blowing hot air around, and heat rises. Also, the light and heat are bouncing all over the tent if there are no plants in it.. Turn the clip fans off for now and I'm sure the temps will come down a bit. They will also come down when you put plants in the tent. The humidity will increase as the plants grow leaves..

don't sweat them temperatures my friend i think your worrying yourself about nothing as @Prophetiko says a tent with no plants in the humidity will be different

ok i just thought the 83 for a few hours wasnt great but i have yet to get plants in there so i wasnt sure.

ill turn off the fan to see if that helps and if not o well. wont really know till i get something in there anyways

But just to ease your mind a bit, 83 is a solid temp. If it stayed at 82 your entire grow, it would be fine and well within range!

Anything between 75 - 84 F is OK. 77 - 79 are perfect. Humidity needs to be around 70% during Veg & 50 - 65% during flower. Buy a small 1 gallon humidifier & it will increase your Humidity & bring your temps down about 5 degrees or so. I just added a 4 gallon Humidifier to a 4' x 8' x 7' tent & it changed everything for the better. A Humidifier is pretty much a small evaporative cooler anyways so it works well.

Yea things seemed fine but today the temps we 84-86 on the different hydrometers. Gonna grab a humidifier since it cant hurt to raise 45-55%rh anyways.
