Indoor HM's Vision Northern Lights Grow Journal

Also started the pot air injection pump and tent humidifier today. Shooting for 60%RH zone. Just got the little humidifier. It is only about 6 inchs square and it uses a 20 oz plastic bottle for a reservoir. Seems perfect for my tent and is working great. The destructions say to only use 20 oz size, but I'm going to try using a 2 liter bottle. I am sure it will work but will be top heavy and easily upset. I think by pushing it into corner of my tent it will work fine with 2 liter bottle.

Update time.

2/12/16 - Day 6
medium pH via A8 = 6.6
Fed 4 liters RO water plus 2 ml/L each of Voodoo and Piranha. Adjusted pH to 6.3.
Left runoff in reservoir.

2/17/16 - Day 11
medium ph via A8 = 6.3
Fed 4 liters RO plus 1 ml/L each Grow A & B, 1.5 ml/L CalMagic, 1.25 ml/L MicroBlast, 2 ml/L each Voodoo and Piranha, 1 ml/L each of Rhino Skin and Carboload, 1 ml/L B52. Natural pH 6.3.
Left runoff in reservoir.
Tent at 72F and 60 RH.

I've had plants that have taken off alot quicker than this girl, but she is coming along. I gave her first nutes today, hoping she may have a spurt soon.

Hi there. I am growing northern lights also and we are about on the same time schedule. I'm really glad I found your journal so I have something to compare too. This is my first auto grow and first time with this strain.
Yesterday I was afraid they were too small, today (after some research) I'm afraid they will end up too big. How big do you expect yours to get? Any advice and tips is appreciated. Thank you!

Hey @Autoimmune , welcome to my journal. I've grown this strain once before, way back my very first autoflower. She got pretty tall, I am guessing 24 inches or more, I did not do any LST or training that time. Also only running cfl at the time, so she stretched alot. I was only using vegetable fert back then and did not even own a pH or ppm meter. She yielded about 1 1/2 oz of really good quality medicine.

Looks promising, HM!
@MoChillah , welcome to my jungle. I hope this one turns out good, growing in front of everybody and all. She seems to be going a little slow, but the first couple weeks are always a little variable. I'm sure she will take off on a huge growth spurt in the next couple weeks.

2/22/16 - Day 16

She is a freak, but starting to be able to notice daily growth. She is a one armed bandit on one side of the first true leaves. The second set of true leaves are freaks too, the middle leaflets both look like they have been snipped off or chewed off or something. The third set of true leaves are pretty small yet, but appear now to be normal. I credit the slower growth at the start to the "freak factor". I can tell she is about ready to start kicking some ass. Another week I bet I will be LSTing her. Here are pics from today, Day 16.

The spots are splash burn from a sloppy first feeding.:face:

2/23/16 - Day 17 - pH via A8=6.5, RH=63%, temp 75F

Upped nutes today to 1.5 ml/L each Base grow nutes A&B.
2 ml/L CalMagic
1 ml/L B52
1 ml/L Carboload
1 ml/L Rhino Skin
pH adjusted to 6.3

Fed 1 gallon, got 2 quarts runoff.

Trying to get my Super Freak to start kicking some ass. She has a little catching up to do!!

Well my "Super Freak" grow just keeps getting freakier. The small white dots I referenced in earlier post was not splash burn as I thought, but an infestation of thips. I think I accidently killed most of them just by handling the leaves during examination, because the spots seemed to be restricted to only the first couple sets of leaves and never seemed to spread. Afterall, she was already exhibiting weird shit, why would leaf mottling not be included? Anyhow, a couple days ago, I noticed the spotting beginning to move onto a couple new leaves. Out comes the magnifying glass and digital microscope, low and behold there were the thrips. I purposely squeezed every leaf surface I could get my fingers on to try to kill or injure any larvae present. I live way out in the sticks, but i am going to try to make into town today to try to find some spinosad to treat the whole tent with. I don't think there is much damage done by the thrips at this point, she has really started to grow rapidly, and I ponytailed her for a couple days in a row, and have her bent over today to get those lovely branches reaching for the light.

2/28/16 - Day 21

2 ml/L each Grow A &B
2 ml/L CalMagic
1 ml/L Carboload
1 ml/L Rhino Skin
1 ml/L B52
