Lighting HLG Diablo QB

my current Diablo light is finally going to get put to good use, going to be a full tent! Will be moving the bigger plants today and the Blue Dragon will have the light to themselves.

Sorry, I never got an alert for this thread!

Hi pop22 i have a question i am running a 500 watt series 3 red speck quantum board from BUDGETLED i am in day 68 ilgm gorilla glue in a 4x4 tent should i have at full power and what distance Thanks for any advice

HLG 200 Diablo on the way for my 2x2... so excited! Won't be using it max power for a while, though. Thanks HLG for the recent sales!

So why are they saying that the light is only good to flower a 2 x 2 when the 100w light is sold for the same space? This driver has maybe 100W more output than the 120w driver used with their 135w 288 boards. My understanding is that the Diablo board was significantly more powerful than the 288 even using the 150w driver. If you can veg 16 swq feet why can you only flower 4 sq ft as opposed to 6.25 (bud box 75 x 75 cm) or even 8 or 9?

It's still a tiny board... but let see what @Les @HLG has to say!

it's the footprint of the light as defined by the size and and shape of the light. I single board is only going to cover a certain area effectively. In actuality it could likely flower a three by three but the PPF is going to be low in the corners. It's not a matter of wattage. I'd dim it to 120 watts in a 2x2, for 30 watts per sq.ft. And, btw, the Diablo is the equivalent of 2.25 QB 288's!

So are you selling us a light that we cannot use to full effect? :crying:But seriously, if you can't cover the space that the power output is capable of covering, then why build a light with those dimensions? In a 2 x 2, you can burn a plant with a 288. So would this Diablo work inthe 2.5 x 2.5 with white wallsor will is still be "weak in the corners?" Also, since it is a rectangle shape, are you alwasy going to be weak in some corner of a square tent or too hot in the other corners? Is this light better suited for say the 2 x 2.5 Gorilla or even a 2 x 3? Would you hang two of these in a 2 x 4 or a 3 x 5? Seems like the only upside is that you got the price way down on the Diablo so we aren't paying any more for it than we were paying for the 288 version of this light.

I'm about to order a 200 Diablo. I planned on using it in my 2x2 but I'll run it in my 2.75x2.75 (32"x32"x60" )and see what results I get. And, I'll put it up against any other light in it's class that you care to name. I've no doubt it will flower that tent, just that 2 would be better IMO. I pay no attention to wattage, it's meaningless when talking about LED lighting. If you want an in depth discussion of this light, feel free to contact support@hlg.com with your concerns, they are the experts. I state my opinions based on what I have used myself and I don't have a single board Diablo at this time.
And I dispute "burning" a plant in a 2x2 with a single QB 288 unless you run it too hard. My 288 is running at 80 watts.

And yep, thta's an old, Slate One heatsink.
