Indoor Himalaya Orange Diesel test thread

I think atulip and maybe pop22 have a great thread about it here. If i find the link i will post it here. I would love to convert a mars 300 to a cree.

Yea I was reading @Atulip s thread on converting the mars 300 over which I may do with 1 of my 3 as well as build a bigger more spread out COB setup too. I was looking at the Citizen leds and trying to go with something close to what most use with the CREE brand. There are just so many with diff sizes and specs and blah blah. I havent even dove deep into the drivers yet and how to set them up to run CPU fans and the COBs. I was thinking about doing a couple small 15mm 5000k and about twice as many 22mm 2700k - 3500k ones. I wanna use the COB for veg and flower and I can use a couple of my 300w for flowering if its needed. I just wish the 300w had some more blue spectrum for veg because they work pretty damn good in flower. I just need to figure out if the 3 x 300w will be enough to flower out the 6 autos I have or if I should hurry up and get the COB setup and just grab some flowering spectrum COBs to run with the 300s. I also have a bunch of 2700k CFL from 23w up to 42w I could put on the light bar I built for veg. Do you guys think I should be alright with the 3 mars and possible cfl if needed or if I should go ahead and start the COB build?

How much space you covering. Mars 300s(60x5) are good for about a 1.5'x1.5' space on their own.

But we can definitely help you convert those suckers to something more efficient. I bet some clu038 would do nicely on mars drivers, wonder if I can find them again.

4000k, not sure if 3 would fit per 100v driver(probably not)

Pretty good option for flowering. 2 per driver. Don't be dissuaded by low lm/w, 90cri ler is 276 iirc.

I am thinking of building one with crees out of a mars and using it to angle in light in addition to the other mars directly overhead.

I am in a 3'x4' tent but 3'x3' is what I usually use for space for the plants. The 6 autos are in 3.5 gallon rectangle pots so they take up about 18"-20" x 36" of space. The 3 photos Im not real worried about right as they wont get flipped till after the 6 autos are harvested sometime in July.

Yeah upgrading those Mars would be a good investment. Pushes each one up to a 2'x2' flowering coverage, or 2.5x2.5' veg. Upgrading all 3 and using for 3'x3' is a ppfd of ~800, perfect for flowering :D

I might go ahead and upgrade 1 possibly 2 of them soon @Atulip. If 1 did 1 I could put it in the middle of the 2 300w or if I do 2 of them just use the 3rd 300w in the middle. I think converting 2 of the 300w would be the best option. What spectrums and voltage should I run? Also what size would be the best? The CLU048 look pretty good with 34.6v and 52v options with being a nice size at 22mm. That and they are not to bad in price just a couple more bucks than the CLU038 while being 7mm larger and about half what Cree run. What are your thoughts ?

The clu048-1212 is great, just difficult to find. I believe someone ordered 2.5 reels of the 3500k 8cri on another forum from cdi, delivery is 6-8 weeks on them. That's your all purpose/flowering spectrum. Ler of ~324 for 3500k, 4000k 80cri. I don't know how well they ramp up when under driven, but should be safe to call them 50% efficient or more at .7A

I would use the converts as your primary light source. Those 3000k 90cri I linked from cutter are probably the best bang for your buck on Mars drivers for flowering. Should be ~130lm/w so 47% efficient. There may be a decent clu038/36/48/46 3000k stocked on cdi that will beat this. Ler of 80cri 3000k is the same ~324 so 152lm/w would be 47% efficient.

Yesterday I added Dutchpro Explode to the mix. I use a 5 liter watering can and pretend it's a gallon so I don't over use nutes. Now the feed is this:
Every day
5 liters water

Dutchpro
1.5 tsp. Bloom A
1.5 tsp. Bloom B
2.5 ml. Explode

OSA 28
0.6 ml

Once a week I will add 1 tsp. Cal/Mag for good measure.
