Highland Ganja Auto Sativa Breeding Stramash

And here they are 10 days on,
60295-smf1-10days.JPG

Looking really good, not much difference between them at this stage which is good and bad as I had hoped to remove a few early on.

They have just been potted up into 1l pots and put into flowering. Quite young but they don't need to get big, just enough to make seeds.

Try to keep as many as possible as long as possible. Think I am just starting to see some variety in them now, the next few weeks will be fun!

Looking awesome! Don't be surprised if you don't see much variation at the F1 stage. Since you have such diverse parents you most likely won't see any recessive traits (different flavors or plant structures) show up until the F2. You would probably only see major phenotype differences if the parents were related, like if they both had affy or skunk in them.

Cant wait to see these flowering! With such a diverse lineage, these F1 will be the most vigorous plant you're likely to ever grow!

Also, make sure to store 50 or so of these F1 seeds somewhere safe. If you inbreed the line for the autoflower trait, but at some point start to see reduced vigor, you can backcross to one of the F1s to save the line. Some signs of inbreeding depression in the line to look for are:
- slow growing (hypothetically, you notice that your f3s grew like weeds, but by f5 you notice that they only grow 70% as tall by day 20)
-deformed leaves (sign of a bad recessive trait, reduces photosynthetic capability)
-low germination rates from seed. (many recessive traits are lethal- the seed will grow and develop, but will never have the ability to sprout.)

You don't have to worry about any of these things for a few years though. Just something to keep in mind, and keep those F1s near and dear!

Hi mattinuk3,

Good advice there, vigor is one of the most important traits for me so your words will be remembered!

Your right as well, very little variation to be seen between F1's, even with 2 males being used. Interesting to see if this continues into flowering.

How's it going LBH?

So the malawi cross are all close to 4 weeks old are are going for it.

So at 2.5 weeks old and after 1 week into flowering they staretd showing sex. Less than a week for all the males to show and then another week for all the lassies to show. Pleased at how quick this has happened.

Ended up with 12 males and 18 females so I like those odds!

The Males,

Selected to 6,

Been grown quite close in small pots but they look very healthy and have the right size of leaves for gathering poor Scottish sunlight:hump:

Probably take the females down to 10 if i can fit them in, the the 3 last to flower and one small one have already gone. I'll try to leave the others another week to start to see some flower formation.

The lassies,

Males have been separated and topped heavily cause there balls were bursting!

Looking good so far! Can't wait to see what recessives pop up in your later generations.

looks like you got some nice genetics in there! there's just something about their structure that appeals to me! Nice work mate! :pop:

Cheers BailerBud, I'm very happy so far:lol:

Really looking forward to the F2's, lots of fun seeing what mixs up where!

Hi JM,
Expected the LR#2 look to be quite dominant but the leaves are starting to really thin out. Good thick stalks to. Be great seeing them out in the sun! Interesting to see how similar there bud structures and aromas will be:D

Heres the females just before potting up.

Due to pot shortages they went 6 to 6l, 3 to 4l, 1 to 3l and 3 to 2l. Give me a chance to find out the min. pot to keep them happy in for future runs. 13 in all at moment but might have to remove a few for space.

Starting to suffer a little for the small pot but otherwise looking good!

Pretty little thing:lol:

Your a beast man, glad I caught up on this thread. I'll be following from now on. Loving the grow.

Glad your enjoying Truu, it's all getting very green here!:D

Busy, Busy, who says dope smokers are lazy:no:

Heres how the flowering room is looking,
65944-growroom.JPG

14 females of the malawi x LR#2 are in there along with 6 Bangi Haze females, destined to mate with another auto the Ogre of which 6 are growing elsewhere. I'll post more about that later. There is also a 6 month old bonsai long flowering panama and golden tiger in as well to see how they do with the 600w to themselves and hopefully to be crossed with Bangi males and Ogres too.

My plan is to grow outside a few autos this summer including the LR#2, Ogre and a few others in the hope of identifying the Auto that likes it best here. I'll then repeat any crosses that make sense.

Big night last night for the young, white pistiled innocents lassies as they were put on show for the cameras.

Little did they know that down in the soviet style cardboard and wood gulag the males, lean and stretched from low levels of sun, beaten and topped and constrained in there 1l prisons were to be unleashed:cry:

This is the last photo there is of the young innocents before they were all brutally pollinated, probably by 5 males.

Hopefully it will be confirmed in the next few days the fate of these girls and whether they all were truly pollinated on that dreadful night:D

Stay safe!
