Harvested a cutting each from my two malawis, both pollinated with LR#2 pollen,

Seeds look good,

One mother was harvested a few weeks ago at 11wks, the other yesterday at 14 wks.

WOW!
50739-ml1.JPG

Also harvested a golden tiger, and early malawi pheno at 14 weeks that has a cutting pollinated by the LR#2. Very strong but subtle sweet smell with this one. Lovely.

Some of her flowers,

Hopefully harvest the other LR#2 female in the next few days.

Have A Fuckin Good One,

Drink slow, smoke fast,

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Aye its great to back at work in the rain and wind instead of smoking bud and growing bud and em... thinking about bud and etc. Still makes smoke testing easier when there is a break in the day:toke:

Second Lowryder#2 was harvested about three weeks ago and went to about 11 weeks.

Wasn't sure what to expect yield wise as I never took them from under the lights after there final repot.

Came away with the impression that under T5's a half oz would be about right for each plant so very pleased to find they gave just under 2oz EACH! I expect that the seeds will make up some of that but really impressed

Will do a proper smoke report after a bit of a cure and probably put a review in the review section too.

First impressions are good but I am not a fan of the smell and taste! Carlsberg Special Brew is the closest to the smell and as a young loon that smell was usually connected with vomit at some point in the evening:hump:

Visited a friend in a nearby village and we were having a wee smoke at the lowryder. He commented as he wandered around the house that he could smell it everywhere and that it was exactly like a brewery.

Not long finished one when his front door opened and a woman came in( doors don't get locked much here) she had the wrong house, but seeing two older men sitting listening to pipe music, she apologised for having disturbed our drinking session and went on her way. We had a good laugh at that and then moved onto testing the Malawi (it doesn’t smell like a bad night at a festival).

So smell is good for disguise not for driving!

More after a mo...

And so this is the beauty that I will run first as an auto.

Malawi2 (second malawi up), 11 weeks flowering, pure sativa and unlike anything I have smoked before. In fact all the sativas are very special - if you haven't smoked PURE sativa grow some NOW NOW NOW!!!!!!!:smokeit:

The decision was simple. The Golden tigers(malawi x meao thai) are superb but only half are harvested and it will take time to cure and smoke and understand them better. They will be run later.

The Panama red at 15 weeks was a possibility. The green panama is still going at 17wks flowering and will need a few more. Good mold and cold ressitance but I need to compare the smoke with the green to really understand it.

The south east asian landrace could go to 24wks+ so not the best idea for a North Highland auto!

In the end the early malawi won out, potent like being carried in the depths of a giant wave, never with the feeling of it breaking on the shore, just surfing the green depths of the ocean swell. Raw oily (I think like cold pressed melon oil but my girlfriend doesn’t agree, she can't describe it either though!) flavours and tastes. Big calyxs and good resin.

The older Malawi at 15 weeks is a different smoke, possibly better but 11 weeks makes a difference in getting F2's ready for the summer.

Deseeded the malawi cuttings that were harvested a month ago.
50742-ml1ml2lr2seeds.JPG

Never taken seeds from dried bud before like that. Both myself and herselfs eyes were watering from the fumes coming from the resin:crying:

Here are the seeds I got from the Malawi1(15week)x LR#2. Guess there must be 2-300 there, if anyone is bored feel free to count them for me:lol:
56419-ml1xlr2seedsf1.JPG

Got about half that for the Malawi2 x LR#2,
56420-ml2xlr2seedsf1.JPG

Darker seeds and a wee bitties of malawi finger hash- yum:D

And so I have started germinating 30 ML2 x LR#2 F1's, select down and make lots of F2's for the outside world.

Really excited to take this next step:jump:

LR#2 bud(small) and Malawi2 bud(larger)

tears of joy i'll bet:D :thread:

Ha, your not wrong there Boomer:thumbs:

So with great emotion it is time to move on to ,

STAGE 2 - Malawi x LR#2 F1's

So some suitable music to pipe them in,

And after a good meal of haggis,

Followed of course by a wee dance,

I present,

And some more,
60294-smf1.JPG

So 30 seeds were germinated and 30 seedlings grew!

So did 11/11 Ace Bangi Haze as well as 4/4 of another of my other crosses(photoperiod). So 45/45 - 100% really pleased.

All were germinated in a 50/50 mix of seedling compost and MP compost, lightly sieved into the pots and gently watered over a period of time before placing the unsoaked seed just under the surface. Then under the T5's with temps steady at 24-27C. All had come up in 3-4 days. The surface was kept damp with mist spray and only got another watering once seedling was up.
