I feed them with Tomorite- tomato food, only here and there tho like every couple of weeks. You can chuck whatever you've got at them as long as it's not too much, there should be pretty much everything in the ground already tho so that'll be a bit trial and error.
Cage? Yeah if you think you can get away with it and can build it big enough for the plants.

I've grown outside for years, I used to have problems until I started buying moth balls and tossing them around the grow area. The smell keeps them at bay. It works...
Moth balls? Do they still exist?
