Hey guys and gals!

my name is andy and i have been researching hard this last month to get started with my first grow. I have had the privilege of helping with some outdoor grows and learned a little. I was discouraged though as i was not the one with the reins and little control or influence on the grows. So its time to finally get it started myself.

I've chosen autos for what seams to be the ease of growing them. height. as well as perpetual harvest.

I am going to start purchasing everything in the next few weeks and really need help figuring out setup. I have a BREW AND GROW shop near me and thought about asking them for the help setting up but feel i may get taken to the cleaners $$$ with no experience on what i should be paying for things and what i actually need.

I need help with a few different things.
-equipment selection
-strain selection
-nutrients ( i know nothing besides theres seems to be a bit to it and i want to make sure i do everything right)

Budget isn't too big an issue as i believe in buying the best and getting bang for your buck!.

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to chime in and guide me through some of these things.

Thanks

Welcome to AFN Andy! Glad to have you.

I would suggest getting an idea of how big you want to go first. Then plan on going a little bigger because you will probably wind up wishing you did. Look around at some of the grows on here. Base what you want to do on what someone else has accomplished. If that person is getting good results then you should as well. What are you looking at? Closet, garage, micro? The possibilities are limitless.

Hey Bro Welcome to AFN as regards to equipment you need to figure if you want to use a tent? If so what size? you going for HPS/MH or LEDs? Strains wise if you want big yeilders check out DP's section but if your after something a litte differant check out highrise seeds and Dragon Masters seeds in our seed vendor section :smokebuds:

what up andy ...and welcome my friend i think i got you the answers you needed i posted them in your thread ...and i'l see if A420er can stop and make sure i'm on the right track...:five:

Thanks for the response! I am going to be setting up tent in my garage. i could do something larger but was concerned abouts costs buying multiple lights. i want to use quality LED so i guess i am limited budget wise to only one light. So i figure one good quality LED covers typically 4x4. Any suggestions on which LED is best for that space? and i guess one question i have now....is my space (4x4) big enough to say harvest 6oz every 70-90 days? if not what is a realistic expectation. i have been searching through threads and they are very helpful! There are so many i just have been havin trouble i guess making decisions and wondered if there was anyone seasoned who would let me barrage them with some questions.

For a 4x4 tent i would go with 2 x Grow Northern MS0006's i have a 3ft x 3ft and run 2 units aswell Hop digity. also my last harvest i pulled 10oz from 3 plants i could get that every 5-6 weeks if i leave mine to finesh up but i like a mixture of heavy and a lighter smoke :peace:Si

you may want to get through a grow first and not worry so much about how much your going to harvest, that way its much more fun growing, learning and youll be toking your own weed in the end.stylez rasta smoke you can ask LED questions here.

Welcome to the family Andy. Your going to be learning so much here your head might hurt for a while!
Don't forget a ph meter. It's a must. Growing in a garage can present heat issues, but there are some on here who do just fine with it. With all the help here your going to do great, just remember to start a grow journal and post plenty of pics! So glad you joined us!
