Help with first grow please

I used the canna coco pulse.. pre buffered apparently to go with the a&b so you you can use it starting from the bag to the pot... apparently. I will try a small amount of cal mag in the feeds and see if that’s helps... only issue in my thinking is it’s only one two out of 4 plants that always get the same. My thinking now is maybe it was to do with salt build up as I started them in the 5 gal pots because I heard your not meant to transplant autos. I’m still not sure I watered them right at the beginning being in a big pot and a small seedling I didn’t water to runoff because I didn’t want to drown them or flush out any of the buffer

Hello guys new to this site and growing. I’m growing in coco.. 5 gallon pots (I now understand that’s to big for a coco grow) Plants have been stunted because of temperature fluctuations I believe and I’m 5/6 weeks in and I don’t feel there big enough 14inches tall and just started to show pistils, my main question is I have notice some leaves have maybe deficiencies can anyone tell me what these mite be? Thanks
I grow in 5 gallon pots, with coco. Genetics define size more than pot size, to an extent. I’ve grown in a 27 gallon tote, and the girl wound up the same size as ones in my 7 gallon pots.
I’m not sure what your problem would be, Unless you don’t have enough drainage, or you’re using something clear to grow in.

Yea iv head that, I’m using fabric pots. When you started you grow in 5 gallon if you don’t mined how did you water, as in did you plant your seed straight into the 5gallon pot. And if so what was the feeding schedule for the first week or two and did you water to runoff.. I know that’s a lot of questions sorry

I usually soak my seeds for 24 hours, then (if feminized) I’ll plant them straight into the coco.
Watering/feed wise, At first I’ll mix Nutes at 1/4 strength, and for the first week, only feed when the surface has dried out, or she gets droopy. At first I’ll only use a solo cup full, and once the plant gets the 2nd node, I’ll give her a full gallon every other day. Unless the plant is a big drinker, you’ll get runoff after a few feeds.
I’ve been growing indoors with coco for a few years now, So if you have any question, feel free to tag me, or pm me.
I am stoned A LOT, though, So some answers may require some deciphering.

Def need to make sure of the ph of that coco cuz if it’s off it can cause a cascade of problems before u realize it! My buddh would t listen to me and had this happen to his 4 ladies..... :yoinks:
1st day with issue had to chop 1 and looked like so

After work the next afternoon not even full 24hrs later came home to this!

Every one of em croaked in 24hrs and wound up being over 8ph! His started similar too with small issue from ph locking it out and wound up a landslide!

That’s Insane!!! You’ve scared me lol.
I don’t have a ph pen Couldn’t find a cheep enough one that had a decent enough reviews so got a colour chart checker. I do my best to get it spot on every time but I suppose it could very 0. Something but not drastic enough to cause a big problem I hope...! :chef:

Thanks mate i think I understand your method.. and I understand I can decipher :baked: i will drop you a message! Appreciate it.

Take a look on amazon cuz I got a $60 apera pen that came in case with 4.0/7.0 calibration fluids and was only $26 buying as open box on there!
In case u are like me and saw all the negative reviews and scared u away I LEARNED SOME PEEPS GONNA COMPLAIN WHEN HAD NOTHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT! Don’t trust amazon reviews! :d5:

Looks like a calcium deficit. Could be PH related .Do you have a PH meter?

If there is one tool in the garden that really needs to be accurate and stays that way, its your PH pen. DON'T buy a cheap one, you WILL regret it eventually.... I recommend Extech or Blue Labs. They are expensive, BUT you can rely on them. I understand being on a tight budget. But this is one tool you can't get a cheap one of and not end up ruining a grow. I lost 12 plants in a DWC grow to a cheap pen, learned this lesson the hard way! EC/PPM meters are not so critical I've used the same TDS-3 for 3 years now and paid $22 dollars for it. But ppm being off a few either way is not critcal. On a PH scale each 0.1 increase or decrease means the solution is TEN time stronger or weaker. So a PH of 6.0 is 100 times more acidic than 7.0. Shows that plants have a hell of a tolerance BUT its often the change in PH that causes the problem. In coco you want a PH of 6.1 to 6.3. Yes the nute makers all say run very low like 5.7. But the problem with that is that's riding the ragged edge of what a plant can tolerate. More than one coco/DWC grower has found a higher PH eliminates problems they've had in the past.

If your growing in coco or other hydro, a PH meter and an EC or PPM meter are a must, without them it's like making your plants play russian roulette......
