HELP!! 2nd 6 pot organic auto grow- problems

if thats crushed it'll be alright. personally I would use crushed AND powdered. but either is fine.crushed or larger pieces will take some time to break down .like a while actually but you'll get initial sourcing from certain things like calcium and mag n other slight minor minerals.

the powder is the way to go ideally for a quicker start up soil. for a more recycling use both imo. that way you always have a source leching off the foods n things. but of course, your call, but if only one to pick from use the powder imo.

I didn't order it in the end because I don't really know the quality of it.its just some dude selling a load of random things so I'll try source something else. All I find is crushed oyster shell mixed with grit for chicken feed. He's got oyster crumb and oyster powder I just dunno whether to risk it.

Got the majority of my amendments delivered today. Is there any particular way I should be mixing all of this.like one at a time for instance.

Can't wait to get this going now lol

not really man, just make sure you get the corners of the container/Tote n so forth. mixing well dry THEN wet the soil it. or moisten it in rather and make SURE you have a decently decent guide to figure that out. its all about texture really. and the foods but ribbon test is a little inaccurate due to the structure of the soil and indoor use for cannabis. its pretty easy if the soil is on the drier side when everything is all mixed up. usually less than a gallon of quality water or tea is enough to kick it off.make sure you mix the water throughout!! breaking up the balls of wet soil mixing it in WELL! then your off to the races man. every three days or so check it.squeeze test. look for the white life popping out.then mix it WELL once the white is abundant.see the pics in my threads please. then toss it a hand full(1 cup is usually enough) of decent rice.squeeze test. add if needed and there it is. you may want to mix it up again after two weeks or so. if it stinks thats because it needs to breath and be mixed.soil is beavy.do NOT toss it in thewre.LAY it in there at the bottom of the tote. that is how its helpful as well just the simpole art of handling soil in general. like lettuce kinda LOL! smack or smash it hard n it'll bruise. so will die :) same thing here sorta kind. no stress trauma.breath/air,food,life,water warm n dark...BOOM!

Sweet. I got a 220l compost bin I'm gonna use. It's pretty cold in the UK at the moment so do you reckon I should cover it up with a tarp to try keep some heat In. It's has a Base so will get air in their still.

So I'm basically adding everything in at once you say. Except the rice. I have no clue what a ribbon test is, I really am a city kid just tryna find a way to nature lol

I think I'll mix it all up with a compost aerator I'm gonna buy and have a go at making my first tea just so it starts with a lil boost.

Yer I'll take a good look at your thread to see about the white life you talk about. Don't want to miss anything crucial at this stage and f things up.

Because it's sort of a dome shaped composted I'm gonna try adding it all in in layers so stuff doesn't get too bunch up together and cause hot spots.

I hope I don't have to wait too too long for it to cook thoroughly . You and @Dazed are legends

I don't know about using another soil but biobizz mate,I can only vouch for my mix which uses allmix. Tbh, allmix isn't crazy expensive compared to other good base soils. I used crushed oyster shells, about £6 for two bags off ebay. When I mix, I use a tarp on the ground, add amendments and mix in thoroughly until your arms hurt, seriously, prob 30 mins of dry mixing, then water with dechlorinated bubbled water until it is damp but not saturated. Should be ok outdoors but yeah def cover up with something and make sure there is air flow. 6-8 weeks and you should be golden, but the longer the better, it's a living thing!

Ok @Dazed no worries mate. It's just wherever I've looked that wanna add a surcharge of like a 5a for every bag I order. And amazon was 16 bludy quid a bag lol even the canna is only 10.99. And light mix is around the same.

I just order oyster crumb and oyster flour from a guy who makes it all himself in Wales. Totally organic and pure oyster shell.

Gonna go buy some tarp today ready to start mixing when my silica and humic acid arrive. I think I'll get the Mrs to give me a hand with the mixing just so she feels involved haha.

I think I'm gonna do another run in half light mix half all mix and just biobizz nutes so that will give the TLO soil at least 10 weeks to cook I'd say before my next harvest.

Also @Dazed do u think I could use light mix and also purchase the biobizz premix and add that at 5% because I'm sure all mix is just light mix with added premix?

Cool man, hmmm I honestly don't know about that. I would def add some perlite, castings and dolomite to the pots this run though.

U mean my next run in the light mix? If so do you reckon is should mix it all up well in advance or just before potting.

I spoke to a guy at growell and he basically said allmix just has a higher nutrient content I.E added premix. I wouldn't say it's definite but he must know something working for them lol

And yer @Eyes on Fire. You've both had my back and I truly appreciate it.

I've got everything on your list @Dazed apart from the all mix ,silica and humic acid.
