I feel the Thwarting!!! What saves me are my canine savages that patrol the yard area. Voles, lemmings, hares would all have their way. I use to have a neighbor, one and a half miles distant. One spring he and the kids planted a veggie garden. Sparrows ate it all as it came up. I had a cat at the time, so the only concern was keeping him from shitting in the garden. Always a catch, lol. Don't have a cat these days, but no worries. The herb goes out when big enough not to notice a little pecking. I mass plant lettuce and I like that I feed my little friends. Any bugs in and around the garden are gonna have a rough time of it. "My" white crown sparrows cruise the greenhouse, looking here and there.
After last cat died I decided not to get another. When we moved north 28 years ago bird song filled the air 24/7. Not fake news. Huge numbers of many species of song birds. For a couple of months each year bird song was about all I could hear. I never imagined this even existed. We spent 12 yrs way back in the mts. By the time we moved down to the valley and the big river the number of birds was a tiny fraction of what it was. And the great diversity of song and color was gone. And there is a hole in my pagan heart today. So, no more cats for me.......

FUCK I would have let out a 20 minute primordial roar that would have been heard in Tassie.
What have you got left in the way of seeds?
