Hi all,

I am having issues with heat in my grow space. I use a cool tube that is linked to a 80w inline extractor fan. It is a very powerful extractor fan however, my temps are still between 30 and 32°c. Does anyone have any ideas of how I can lower the temps? I was thinking of buying an ice pack and dangling it just before the cool tube so that it sucks the cool air surrounding the ice pack. If anyone has any ideas I'd be grateful!

Thanks.

OK thanks. I was thinking ice packs as they seem to stay frozen for longer in comparison to frozen bottles. I won't be getting an AC unit until next year as it is end of summer now and temps will be dropping. Thanks for your input. Much appreciated.

ice packs will work fine too. bottles are cheap and readily handy is all.but yeah, them ice packs should work well, just make sure to have enough area for air to flow decently enough to push that cooler air your making towards the plants LOL just dont pack the whole back of the fan with them is all LOL good luck

hi hero, i had the same problem few weeks ago ... if you could give us more info about the room size and outtake fan?! waht bulb are you using?

i have tryed to place frozen bottles and ice packs inside the box..i couldnt place them behind the fan but the fan blew on them and the temps ware outside like 33C and inside the box was solid 27. so it works fine but for a short period and you have to replace them every 3-4 hours.

i have an 600w hps with cool tube and an inline fan of 125mm/425ccm blowing just for cool tube so i wouldnt suggest anything under 300ccm to do the job done especialy in the summer.
in my previus grow i had an 150mm fan on the tube but the temps were still high..but there were more parameters that caused that and i figured that out too! :)

hope it helps! :)

ct.jpeg this is my rocket. :)

Making it inline helps a lot with cool-hoods and cool-tubes just attaching 'both' ends of the tube to appropriate sized insulated ducting allowing it to pass right through the tent or if its located in room same apply's,have the ducting going in and out of the room and "a separate extraction". this will make it far more efficient at cooling itself with cool air rather than trying to cool itself with hot grow room air. ;) GL
Quick edit to add a pic of what i mean ..notice both ends exiting grow space.

Pic was taken just before instaling in the box..and ofcourse it has ducting at both ends! ;) i dont see the meaning if the both end arrent ducted
just was taken with out it for photo shoot! :)
