HBD AutoFem Seed Run w/a CS Reversal, 1st go at this...

Just skimmed through here, I too will be taking on my first seed run this upcoming grow - just dropped a buddha auto purple kush and nirvana's auto northern light. I have 5 fem seeds of each, and don't know if I want to germ one of those seeds for the CS, or to take a clone off of the 1 I'm trying to grow already. Did you make your own CS?

I have not done it myself so this advice is only from what I've read from other people on here - they have found CS works the best when applied to the branch rather than the foliage, and rubbing (with gloves on) the solution on the branch(es) you want to reverse.

I did make my own cs. I had a few bad seeds in the delivery so my timing and genetic choice got a little screwed up. Right now I have an auto that didn't auto flowering atm. I put her to 12/12. She is Black JH. I also have HBD that was 1 of 5. She was the only 1 that lived so the genes are questionable. She is on day 7-9ish of getting sprayed top to bottom 1-2 times a day with my cs that read 34 ppm on my tds stickpen. My plan will be to harvest the pollen and pollinate the Black JH. This was going to be for seed to grow, now its just practice as I don't think they will be autos and not sure if they will be fems.
I have some better genetics on the way, Dark Devil and Berry Bomb that my experience will be tested while I am doing seed runs with these.
Traditionally I think people germ a seed after 2 weeks of the 1st seed being germed to get the timing right. Also, germ more than u think you will need because you never know who will make it and or if tragedy were to strike.

So after extensive research, the best on growweedeasy.com (thanks namvet) it seems I have a compound problem. I see sign of calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus deficiency. This could be caused by a couple things. Low temps, my area is at a steady 68-70 degrees F. It could be low humidity, it is usually between 15 and 30 % which is low during veg. Or it could be the goddern gnats that I've had since forever. There is def. some lockout going on. Could be my own self over ferting them. Going to try and remedy these each this week.
Jacky is still growing pistils more and more everyday, besides the jacked up leaves she's coming along. The HBD I'm reversing is looking more and more shrivelled. I ran a fresh batch of cs up to 35 ppm and mixed in with old batch just in case. It was stored in darkness but was shelved for a few weeks before I got to use it. No sign of balls on the HBD as yet. The 2 clones I took crom Jacky are doing well. The 1st is still under veg light and growing no sign if sex. The 2nd I just out under 12/12 mainly to get her out of sight but also to have another experiment to see if she flowers immed after going 12/12.
Not much to report, when anything fun happens, I'll take some photos.

Longtime Update. Recovery w/pics. New CS Reversal.

Yikes, it has been a few since my last update. As you might could tell from my last post there was some frustration. I had a compound problem causing compounding issues. My remedies:

1. A $15 heater w/thermostat set super super light to where it only ran a few minutes every hour. It raised the temps in my grow area just a few degrees which is what I was after.

2. I placed a rag soaking in distilled water in front of said heater. This raised my humidity up from hellish dryness to at least a desert like setting. Really, now its between 40-60 where before it was 10-30% RH.

3. I gave them all a superflushing. Left them alone for a couple days after. Gave them a light feeding after that then introduced Botanicaire (sp?) Cal-Mag into the equation at suggested levels.

4. I covered everyone in Gnat-Nix a granular product that sits atop the soil that is supposed to lock out the gnats from access to breeding grounds. I also placed some yellow sticky cards around that caught a lot of the flyers.

5. Finally and many of you might disagree with this step but I have just witnessed a general plumping and a kind of stand tallishness of all of the plants I'm growing including the cannabis. I gave everyone (except my touchy plants and my 1 clone that has not flowered as yet) a dose of flowering miracle grow. I know, Iknow, IKNOW. This isn't something I normally would do BUT as I already had it, I thought a one time shot might offer up something my normal regime is missing and/or replace something they were deficient in more quickly. It WORKED. Not that they will ever get any MG again in their lifetime but it seemed to be just what they were needing at the time. They are all standing tall, green and healthy, finally.

All that said, I need to catch you up on them individually. Jacky or Mother is doing well finally properly into flowering after 24hrs dark and we are 4ish weeks into flower.

Clone 1 is standing tall and has gone into a stretch and began to show pre-flower under veg lighting, ya go figure.

Clone 2 hasn't grown much and just showed a pistil today, as she would never yield anything substantial, I am going to try and reverse her, and get my technique down better.

The HBD plant I am reversing has had CS sprayed onto her for several weeks now. She has shriveled up and her stem has blackened. Her branches have become so stiff the slightest touch snaps them off. The budsites have just stopped growing and I'm desperately looking for some balls (never thought THAT thought would enter my head). As this process is new and totally alien to me, as was the cloning process which went 100% better, I believe she has maybe been over exposed to the CS? Not sure but I am ceasing to spray her with CS and am going to water, feed and watch for signs of pollen. I will spray the clone I am trying to reverse half as much as I sprayed this one and am considering watering down my homemade CS by a 1/4.

Please see pics and feel free to offer up thoughts and or suggestions if you recognize where I am with this or have some insight to where I am headed, it will be much appreciated.

Still waiting on a re-re-shipment of some Dark Devil and Berry Bomb beans from Herbies. I've read they have been targeted as of late and many shipments have been seized. That said, something else is in the works in lieu of that ever showing up but I don't want to jinx it. I'll tell when I have something to show...

So I started spraying clone 1 on 12/20 at 1/2 strength CS solution. I will spray once a day. Hopefully pollen will ensue. The HBD plant has gone brittle although she/he is greening up some since I ceased spraying it. Hopefully I get pollen from one or the other in time to pollinate either a few branches on Jacky or all of clone 2. Getting closer to the fun stuff...

Argh! I have fresh pistils on the HBD I am trying to reverse! How can this be??!? I stopped spraying her with the 34ppm homemade CS as she was looking pretty crispy and a couple days later after some fresh green growth... new pistils. No balls, bananers, nothing to make me think pollen. What is wrong with this, where have I gone wrong, what is the problem?!
Anyone that has successfully done this, please make a short review of my thread, ask me questions, let me know if you see the chink in my armor, PLEASE.
Dunno why I can't reverse a plant. Doing everything per researched successful methods.

If you make your own cs, and keep it around 15-25ppm, it can be sprayed all over the plant. Leaves, stems, budsites, everything. It shouldn't burn the plant at all. Storebought stuff however, usually burns the crap out of the plant, so spraying it on leaves will nearly destroy them and stunt the plant a lot.

Do you have a picture of your cs generator setup, and/or the specs of it? The cs shouldn't really be burning your plant when you spray it. What color is your cs?

My CS is clear, I run a 9v 600ma transformer with alligator clips on eBay bought certified 99.999% silver 14 gauge wire. When I began I had a stronger transformer and switched to this setup before my 2nd run. I did a total of 3 CS runs and mixed them all together. Unfortunately, I ran it to 34ppm thinking that it would be good. From the way the plant looks my guess is that its too high, she def. crunchy, with brittle branches. I've since diluted the CS I am using down to 15ppm with the same type of distilled water I use in my CS generator..
I sprayed that HBD for almost a month it seems, from research here, it seems they should flip well before that, ya? This clone of a Black JH hopefully will turn quicker and not get as crunchy.

Sidenote- no sign of Herbie's shipment. Anyone having issues getting their beans? This is the 2nd try from them too. Really bumming me out.

Hmmm. Do you have a laser pointer? If you do, shine it through your cs and it should make a solid looking beam. There also shouldn't be any big visible particles floating in it.

Try straining it through a double coffee filter as well.

As for herbies, I'm pretty sure all shipping is getting messed up these days. Christmas time is the worst for shipping. If you didn't pay for expedited shipping before the holidays, you might end up waiting a bit.
