HBD AutoFem Seed Run w/a CS Reversal, 1st go at this...

Amazing how both plants were born literally at the same time and one popped open leaves spread and little 2nd leaves came out already. The other plant is a little behind, she is still trying to stretch open all the way. I checked her cotyledons and they are clear of any remaining husk of the seed shell. She just didn't seem ready for photosynthesis, her two little leaves clammed up tight. No biggie, sure she'll come around just makes me wonder more about genetics and what is passed on and pre-programmed into the life of something that is still in seed form.
Growing is truly more addictive than partaking, there is so much more to it and the great feeling of producing something is 10x better than (well....) 1x better, ok ok really close to smoking some outrageously good shit.

Well the one runt seedling is not showing signs of vitality. Its just barely opened up is real dark and doesn't seem to want to make it. Def. not genes I want to propagate. So I've splashed 2 more HBD seeds with the hopes of breeding one and harvesting 1. I have 1 more HBD bean to grow out that will be germed in 2 weeks to coincide with the taking of pollen from one of these beans.
As it sits. it looks like the current HBD healthy seedling will be pollinated by the black JH that is a couple weeks ahead of it. Right now still waiting for preflowers to start spraying the Colloidal Silver.

So one of the plants grew tiny little 1-finger leaves and then just stopped. Someone who has seen this, let us know what the hell happened here? It just stayed tiny and dark and just never went anywhere..



The other one is doing well. I have 2 more in germ atm. STILL waiting for pre-flowers on the Black JH.

OK so 1 of the 2 in germ didn't make it to dirt. One did, will let it be known when she arrives above soil. The other bean grew a little taproot, a little little taproot, then just stopped. I thought it was maybe an extra tough shell so I was going to maybe scratch on it some. Soon as I picked it up the taproot broke off and the seed fell in half. Ug. So it goes, I have 1 last seed I put into the germ ziplock today. It seems I have better luck with the ziplock method than the glass of water method.

Not trying to but in buti do the paper towel gem mode and it has done me good. I spray the paper towel till its wet then stick the bean inbetween, i spray it a few times a day for maybe 4 days and its got atleadt a 1/2 inch tail after 4 days. I keep it in the cupboard for total darkness. Other than my 2 cents looks like your doing good. I cant wait to try out my pollen experiment in some soil. Got about a week to go before my auto purp seeds are ready to dry out.

Right on. Thats what I did forever too, then I saw the water glass method and thought well if the results are the same. I think they are stronger in the paper towels. Not as soggy and soft and they have a little resistance to grow into. I've had better results anyway.
How many beans are you expecting? I'm curious how many 1 small entire plant will produce. Figure if I'm going to do it, might as well go all the way and get as many seeds as I can.

I counted 15 that i can see. Ill start 3 when their ready and which ever is the best out of those i will pollenate again. I only did the tops of two lower buds.

Wow, So if I do an entire small plant, there may be 100's of autofem seeds huh? Thats what I'm talkin' about. Why aren't more people breeding their autos I wonder. The process is fairly easy to follow as long as your plants are agreeable.

Which mine are not! It's got to be past day 30 now and ne'er a sign o pistils anywhere. She is driving me crazy. I have to ask ( I might start a thread if no one answers here....) Can auto plants have photo pheno's? I mean does it happen that every now and then a photo comes through? Or do they have it down well enough that its an impossibility? I can't seem to find any other grows of this strain to verify that it should/not take this long to show pre-flowers, anyone know anyone or seen anything about ORIGINAL SENSIBLE SEED CO Black JH?
The other girls are progressing nicely. The last of 5 HBD seeds germed just fine and hit the dirt today, one other is still a seedling waiting on her 1 finger leaves and the last one is on her 3 finger leaves.
I put my last bean in the germ bag today, it is a Delicious Cheese Candy freebie. If I can get this dang ol' Black JH to sexify and get her reversed, I might just do that cross as well. Have pleeeeeenty of seedies to play with.

I would have an entire plant of seeds of these 3 crosses all coming in around the same time:

Black JH x Himalya Blue Diesel
HBD x HBD (IBL)
Black JH x Cheese Candy

The plan is to develop #'s 1 and 3 enough such that I have the best of both strains dominating then cross them together. I will keep HBD going as breedstock as it is a known strain. Also hope to have a surprise down the line for those that are paying attention! A reallly really nice surprise...
