Harvest & Curing Harvesting, yellowing leaves question..

Excellent grow ... looks to be a couple more weeks to me ... I would say you can switch to straight water anytime ... I see you're aiming at 9 June to be done ... it generally takes me 3-4 weeks from chopping to dry and jar and burp enough to be able to walk away ... it can be done faster if need be but I don't like to rush it ... a lot depends on the rh in your drying room.

Hi Tyler,
One thing I can say is nice job growing them ladies :slap: Reps to you,
I think Muddy hit it bang on, In your first two Pics it looks like the two on the outside could do one more week with Neuts (no N IMO) and the plant in the middle probably looks like it could do with 2 more weeks neuts then flush for 2-3 weeks when the fan leaves really yellow out. It's the plant sucking the last bit of neuts it can out of the fan leafs. These ladies are good and Fat I think they are really going to get huge before there done. As for drying I will nuke it on a lower setting for 10 sec at a time if you hear popping its to high and to long. You want it to be a little moist still and not crunchy I normally use a thicker paper to help out or pipe/bong a hit. Are you going to keep posting till your done and then give us all smoke report of those ladies. I hope soo cause I'm subbed.

!!!!Well done good sir!!!!

how tall are they?

Thanks guys for the nice words, if I would have known that I would have had such an awesome response I would have started a journal a long time ago! Yes I'll be posting more pictures and plan on doing a smoke report since it seems like there is only one other smoke report for the strains I've got.

The sample that I hung to dry the night before was already dry enough to smoke by the end of last night, which makes me think that my humidity is too low... Being that I'm an hvac guy I should have a humidifier in my home, but I don't and being its still winter here for some crazy reason my house is very dry, which I could definitely see being a problem once it comes time to dry all of them. If I were to estimate I would say its about at 15-20 rh, I'm probably going to just hang me in my basement, the humidity seems to be much better down there, but not sure if I have a good spot for them. But after a j I was high as fuck ( in my best Ricky voice (tpb!)). Quality isn't quite what I was looking for so hopefully it gets a little more potent when it's all said and done. I have only tried the bubblelicious so far.

Do I guys like my budget grow room? Any tips on making it better? I used a product called thermopan to line the walls, I'm sure Mylar is better but it was what I had lyin around the house, I think I'm going to buy a tent as soon as i get the money rounded up, looking for a complete setup if any of have any suggestions, cuz my whole house just reaks when I walk in the door! Better planning on my part could have solved that problem but I wanted to make sure that I could do it before I really got into it if that makes any sense!

Again sorry about the hps pics, I would prefer not to move them until I chop them since the area I'm growing in is very small. I was only expecting these guys to be around 2 ft tall, my room only allows a 3 foot plant and these guys are all about 3.5 feet! 2 of them are only about 6-8" from the light. The area is actually like 2' w x 3' long x 3' tall. So it's getting a little crowded in there and there is really nothing I can do about it...

So back to business, the jock horror I think needs about 2-3 more weeks before I start flushing, the bubblelicious on the other hand I think is getting closer, maybe another round of nutes and start flushing, which I would do on Sunday. Do u guys agree? I hate taking samples like that cuz i want as much of the finished product as possible but I guess it's almost a necessity.

I went picture crazy last night, so ill post more at some point today when I get time...

Nice looking plants, well done! Yes, it's hard to get the true colors under HPS lights but they look to be coming along nicely. When those big fan leaves are about half yellow that's the time to switch them to plain water to cleanse them.

First off sorry for the book earlier, I had a lot of info I needed to talk about...

But for the pictures, from left to right
Pics #1 - general pics of my overall grow room
Pic #2 is a picture of the top on the jh
Pic #3 is of the top of the bubblelicious, they are getting fatter everyday!
Pic #4 the bubblelicious is in the back with the Jh in the front off to the left
Pic #5 Jh is in the back with the bubblelicious in the front off to the right

If I have to wait another 2-3 weeks til they are done then I will have to take them out again and get better pics, I'm afraid since the space is so tight and they're getting so fat that I'm going to break something... On pic #5 u can sort of see how they are starting to lean a bit, which I think is from the weight of the buds, I might have to get a stick or something to prop them up... I'm almost afraid to touch them tho lol everything has gone so good so far!

Thanks Chester, I will definitely check it out, btw is this the same Chester that has been following the other guy doing the jock horrors? Blue mystic or whatever? I've been kind of following his progress as well..

But so if I have to wait another 2-3 weeks on those jocks before flushing I don't see them being ready to go by fathers day(which I start my vacation then and will be gone for a week.). I really don't want to chop those early, but I might have to, I would think if I had the last ones chopped by June 1st, that would give me 16 days to dry and have them cured, is that reasonable or should I plan to chop a little earlier....
Also based on the pictures, and their relative height of about 3' 3" what do u guys roughly estimate ill yield off of each plant? I figured the Jh won't yield as much being a sativa Dom strain but I could be wrong they all seem to be just as fat

Also is there a big difference in potency from waiting that extra couple of weeks? Or Is it mostly just a taste/ weight thing? I plan to let em grow as long as I can, I guess I was just curious.

Blue Mystic's Jock Horror is a photo sensitive plant.

While growing, taste and potency continue to improve to a point then they begin to go backward ... But if you're running up against a deadline you have to make it work. A lot depends on your drying spaces rh ... if it's low your drying stage can be 2-3 days and then into jars to begin burping ... if it's high the initial drying can last a week or longer ... when I harvest I try to achieve 62-65% rh in my herb w/in 3-4 days (usually takes longer). Then I maintain that level of humidity via jarring and releasing gases (humidity) ... sometimes I jar too soon and after taking an rh reading I pull the weed out of the jar and lay it in a single layer on a paper plate ... some weed dries quick all the way through and some has isolated pockets of dampness you can still find after 3-4 months in the jar. I try to never let it go below 62% which allows it to keep curing pretty much up until I smoke it (w/in reason).

I harvested 3 plants between 3/25 and 4/1 ... I'm out of town for a month and will not be able to burp the jars until I get back ... they will be fine ... a good accurate hygrometer that fits in a jar is the key to a quality cure ... can be done w/o but why chance ruining 3 months work ...

I'd guess 5 ozs yield total from the 3 ... you can be dry enough to jar and done burping in 16 days but you need to stay sharp and buy yourself 1/2 doz large 62% Boveda packs to put one in each 1/2 gal jar before you leave for vacation. I can't tell from the photos but it looks to me like at least a couple more weeks of growing to be done ... time to get your stuff together to be ready to harvest ... I would probably harvest your plants in at least 2 stages about a week apart. Less to do at one time and if the first 1/2 dries too fast you'll have the second half to get it right.
