Ok so I just read the guide from muddy about waiting for the leaves to yellow before u chop the plants down... My question is, do the leaves start to yellow as a result of flushing( not adding anymore nutrients) or do they yellow on their own even with watering with nutrients and u just wait and once the yellow then start flushing? I'm very close to harvesting and this being my first grow I don't want to mess anything up and harvest too early, I did chop a sample bud last night and waiting for it to dry.. Any word on quick drying? I would rather not wait 4 days before I sample anything to see if its far enough for my liking since something could change in the next 4 days... Thanks for the replies!

The leaves usually start to yellow at the end of there life cycle.Keep in mind that some strains are ready before the leaves turn yellow and you should always check your trychomes to tell for sure. They should all be cloudy, or cloudy with a few ambers.I have done at least seven or eight grows with different varieties and only had one that turned slightly yellow.:D

See everything on here seems so contradicting, some people say check the trics some say its worthless, it gets so confusing!! My indica dominate bubblelicious has orange hairs all over the place, still some white tho(prolly about 85% orange)is it safe to start flushing and chop her? My sativa dom jock horror still has all white hairs on it, maybe an orange here and there (about 15% orange)... They were started at the same time and its going on exactly 9 weeks from seed today. I don't have a jewelers loupe, and I'm trying not to get one if at all possible. Also what is ur preferred quick drying method, I would like to try these things tonight if I could

Not all auto strains will get amber trics, which is why that's not a reliable method to use. The plants store energy in the large fan leaves and as they start to reach the end of their life, they draw off that stored energy and the leaves turn yellow. That will happen regardless of whether you're still feeding nutes or not. Once they start to turn there is about 3 weeks left. I normally wait a week from the first onset, then start to cleanse them with plain, pHed water, no nutes. Not all strains will finish at the same time, even different phenotypes of the same strain can finish at different times. That's why it's almost impossible to create any hard and fast rules regarding when to harvest.

If you've got a vape, throw your sample in there wet and it will dry out pretty quickly. You can also do a quick dry in a microwave oven. Or wet into a bowl also works.

https://www.autoflower.org/f23/ If you still have white hairs that means she is still forming buds. They should be around 90 to 95% brown at chop time. You need a magnifier to check trychomes. It shouldn't be that confussing. If the hairs are almost all dryed and the trys are all cloudy,or all cloudy with a few amber ones, she is ready to harvest.

So with that being said, I still have a couple weeks left? Especially on the jock horror? The fan leaves are still pretty green on both...
I'm hoping to have everything cured and ready to go by Father's Day ( June 9th I believe), is that an achievable deadline if I let em grow out another 2-3 weeks before chopping? If I go 3 more weeks, that'll be 12 weeks total from seed, and a chip date around may 22nd?

Prolly looking into it a little too much, but doesn't a microwave mess with the molecular structure of things and wouldn't I have to worry about it, for lack of a better word, stealing all of the thc?

Post up a couple pictures and I can give you a better idea on where they stand.

Microwave is okay for a quick sample. Just don't bake it to the point where you vape off the THC. Before I got a vape I used to put it in my bubbler and smoke it wet and green to sample. Takes a few hits to dry it out but it does work.

Ok sounds good, I've been a bit skeptical on putting pictures on here, but I guess I'm gonna take a chance cuz I want to get this right
Btw, without pictures, I fed with nutes yesterday, I had been feeding nutes every other watering and I usually watered about every 3 days or so, I was hoping that would be my last feeding and just do straight water from there on.

But I have a couple of pics on my phone right now but not quite sure how to get them on here and they're not a close up or anything, just a whole plant pic... If I figure it out ill put em on.

Hopefully I just figured it out

Btw that picture was taken 5 days ago, I doubt I can see what u need to see, but hopefully it'll give u an idea.... How are they looking generally? Have I been doing everything right so far?

Ok so I was able to take some better pictures, the first picture is of my whole grow room, and as u can see I completely underestimated how tall they would become, but they seem to still be doing alright for me except for some minor but age on the tops of one of them....
Picture #2 is of the bubblelicious which I think it looks like its getting very close, but how close I'm hoping u will answer
Picture #3 is of one of the tips of the jock horror
Picture #4 is of one of the buds from the jock horror

Just so u know, the pictures go from right to left.

Sorry for having to take the pictures under the hps, it's a bitch to move those guys.... Hopefully u all can tell me what's up and at least give me an idea of when I should chop them down, thank you!!
