Fast Buds Hans' FastBuds LED Coco Autopot Grow - Blackberry / Girl Scout Cookies

Subbed in Brother.
Thanks for doing this.
I was looking into these auto pots for a Greenhouse grow, but didn't know if the cost would be worth it.
My plan was to use Coco hempy buckets with a float valve.
However, I am still up in the air on my plans.
I just don't have $500.00 for the auto pot system for 12 plants.
Coco + pots equals around $30. So that's a huge price difference.
Ever done a d.i.y like this one?
Thanks
Looking forward to the show.

Hey bro, thanks for dropping by. :toke:
Yeah these Autopots would be sweet for greenhouse grow, that's really what they market this system for. Yes the initial investment is a bit much but these are worth every penny imo. Yeah you could do a DIY version of this but probably wouldn't be as reliable... and just using a float valve wouldn't work quite the same, their aquavalves still allow for a wet/dry cycle as they only refill the tray once it's completely empty, whereas a float valve would only maintain a certain level. Anyway, good luck with whatever you decide.
:pass:

Update: Day 10
Things moving along just fine, both looking good so far.
Will water again tomorrow with same feed as before.

Hey Hans,
Is there no wicking / capillary action drawing the water / Nutes up into the root zone?
I am wavering between these Autopots and Octopots.
It would seem that the Octopots are more of a set it and forget it type of system.
However I don't know for sure yet.
That's why we investigate and ask questions right?
Have you looked into Octopots?

They are more of a wicking /soil type grow.
Not a hempy / hydro style like your Autopots are.
Just wondering what you think about the two systems.
I have zero electricity to use.
Only gravity / wicking or capillary action.
Thanks for your opinion
Sorry to junk up your thread but I figured I would ask someone with some experience using this system.

For a greenhouse you can buy just the aqua valve and use it in a regular tray. they also sell a kit so you can use any container as a reservoir. I'm going to look for or make some 4ft trays and use aqua valves and a 50 gallon barrel for a res for my greenhouse. $22 for the valve is a good deal.
build your tray similar to a flood and drain table and use standard nursery pots.

Autopots are a wicking style. The medium is the wick same as an octopot and they wick from the bottom.
