Fast Buds Hans' FastBuds LED Coco Autopot Grow - Blackberry / Girl Scout Cookies

Hans, just curious why you're using less perlite than what the autopot manufacturer suggests (50/50) ?

Is your room particularly dry or have you observed other things during the last grow ?

Have you tried 50/50 already, I was thinking about using this system with coco and I'm curious why you use less perlite.
No reason in particular really, other than it seems unnecessary to use that much with coco since it's already a very light/fluffy medium. (Plus a bag of perlite costs more than my bag of coco :p)

I'm subbed for the show... I'm thinking of getting a setup like this and giving it a go..

My hold up for switching to coco so far has been I have a shit ton of advanced nutes but it's not the coco line. You seem to be using the regular base nutes with no problems?

Yeah bro the regular Sensi nutes have always been for coco as well... Honestly, the newer coco specific ones are probably just more of a marketing gimmick for them to cash in on the recent coco craze, I doubt I'd see any real difference with them. One of the main reasons I switched to coco in the first place was because my nutes always pH to around 5.7-5.9 range which is optimal for coco.

So you start with the auto pot... bottom layer of clay pebbles. Then rest of the way with coco/perlite 80/20....

Do you germ seed and go direct to coco mix? Or do you use rooters then place that into the coco and top feed them in?

How long in general do you have to top water before your able to feed with the res only?

Yeah man, there's a "root control disc" that goes in the bottom of the pot first then everything else on top in that order. I wait about 3 week before turning the aquavales and airdomes on, you can turn on a bit earlier tho if you needed to. Here's a couple PDF's from their site to read for some good info.

As for germinating, I've always done the same thing and have actually had 100% germ rate since day 1... I soak in water for 12-24hrs, then put in paper towels for 24-48 hours until I get about a 1cm tail then straight in the soil or coco.

That's the same way I germ in the soil and I'm at 100% so far as well so I'm glad that's not going to change... Ok I'm good for now I'm gonna do all the reading I can for a bit and this is the setup you will see in my tent after my sprouts finish so I have 70 days or so til it's go tome... thanks for the links :slap:
