Indoor hairymans The good, bad and ugly perpetual grow

Thanks for the words guy's ,I got some cinnomon  all ways happy to try things out

Won't be the first or last hiccup I have growing I reckon:pass:

Perlight has all ways been my preferred choice over vermiculight which I have tried but feel it keeps me pots wet too long but happy to listen to your thoughts as to why you prefer it @MikeyB420

I remember @archie gemmill saying something about using it in his summer pots ? Or was it winter?

Sure you will have your germination woes in the past and rocking along in the tent again.

That 2L turned out just stunning if not hilariously out of proportion to her pot, just love her colours and looks like she will make some tasty smoke. :slap:

cracking plant even if it were from a pot X2 the size
think it was my 2nd grow, went to B&Q for soil and perlite.they run out so i got some vermiculite, overwatered then must took a fortnight to dry out.
i then used perlite 1/3 now i run 4:2:1 soil, perlite, vermiculite.toyed with the idea of having a summer/winter mix but with the weather its just winter mostly.

I've only ever used Vermiculite, as I was told by an industrial chemist a long time ago, that Perlite was not as pure and could contain undesirable elements, depending on how it is processed in the first instant! You can find so many contradictory points in general horticulture and more specifically Canna growing about the pro's and con's of each but, with that basis I stick with Vermiculite!

Cannabis like's a free draining soil. Fact!!

Archie probably said summer as vermiculite holds more water and nutes than perlite. I like vermiculite so I have to water less often, aeration is slightly better with perlite. Depends on your environment and how you water

I can only agree @Rollin_along (in ways?) you are certainly right about aeration! Ideally, both should not hold on to nutes and release them against your current feeding schedule. There is evidence that both can do this!

OK, had my say, make of it what you want @hairyman? Best of luck for future grows!
