I am making baby steps at this as well, as allways my advice is just do it and learn from.mistakes

So lots been going on so an update on the breeding



So I was very kindley sent some [HASHTAG]#sugarbaker[/HASHTAG] auto regs from @Rebel and I had excellent germ rate and female to male ratio,View attachment 1013446
I picked the fastest and showy male and two girls who was very similar in shape appearence and showed sex early .View attachment 1013455
( at this point I may have thrown the baby out with the bathwater , i had three girls who seemed completely different pheno and its leaves was very similiar to sage in texture (alas I culled these and then read a @Mossy post about looking for the unusual in selection)View attachment 1013449

So I now had some new sugar baker seeds , these I grew out looking to see if they had good germ rates and looking for another fast male to cross to a selected BlackBerryGum which sexed fast and was quicker to flower and finish than others I have grown out .View attachment 1013450 View attachment 1013452

So I guess that is where I am up to ,,

I have some F1 [HASHTAG]#Blackberrypie[/HASHTAG] to further select from , they have had quick germ test in shot pots and wait for a solo cup run to see what they turn out like.View attachment 1013453

So from first sugarbaker seeds I am sowing another ten looking for another fast male to cross with some new seedstocker strains I have going for battles , I will only pollinate a branch on selected girls

Why am I bothering lol, well I prefer fast compact autos and recently there seems a lot are moving towards xxxl autos and it's fun

So this was the [HASHTAG]#orangeassault[/HASHTAG] male I downsized and his two sisters , the smaller girl looks very much like the male, he is now being kept captive in less than optimal conditions and is constrained by his solo cup

Mind boggling garden ..... how do ya manage to,keep ‘em all so happy and in such small containers? Passion?

I set the light at 26 inches not moved it , now as it happens I had a plant from last set up going into flower ,so it was quite close to the new light ,, it sucked the cal out like in days , so I going to errr on the side of caution with distances this run

Ellecy Bill looking better , the urge to start the blurple up on a photo tent is hard to resist

Well I started to save some in vial but was far too much hassle and I don't want to mess about spraying silver or whatever it is and I can pick the fastest male every time out of the sugar baker and now the BlackBerrypie and I have an agentorange male and will have more regs of that so for me I don't see the need to make female only seeds

I sure some of them seedstocker strains i growing will throw some intresting crosses ,,,,now stop me when I going wrong , but I have [HASHTAG]#sugarbaker[/HASHTAG] which is quite heavy and [HASHTAG]#orangeassault[/HASHTAG] which is racy and a [HASHTAG]#blackberrypie[/HASHTAG] which is yummy so if I stick to them 3 as my pool of regs then

Practice , patience , experimenting but most of all simplicity ,,, a careless attitude to seed losses ,,,,not withstanding the huge contribution Archie brings to the show with his tea making abilities and so forth :smoking:

Gotta have a conversation with @archie gemmill about teas, that something I have not done yet .... started some corn sprouts and then realized I couldn’t use so had to toss .... Teas are one of the things I need to make me “more better”!

yep keep it simple dont need a fridge full of pollen :smokingr flaffing about with 9v batteries and silver wire.no doubt if it were legal we'd be balls deep
