Dinafem Growing in Cape Town, South Africa

Perfect!! Yeah i did a dinafem AWW XXL last year and our season was brutal. It rained almost every day throughout flower, and the days it didnt rain it was 80%+RH. Just one of those seasons. It did well though! Minimal mold and a big plant with great bud.

Several factors will determine whether a plant gets boytris
1 Circulation - I believe this is key in reducing mold. Constant moving air across central colas helps for sure.
2 Genetics - Some strains do not mold as easily as others. Often taller open structure plants are better against mold.
3 Plant health - A very healthy plant is better against mold. Grow them healthy and strong!
4 Daily dew - Here we deal with heavy daily dew during most of the summer and in the fall. Greenhouse for the win here of course.

Depending on the strains and how they grow!! My AWWXXL was 43" (110cm) and 43"(110cm) wide. If you grow them right and conditions are ideal they can get pretty huge!!

Sure, why not right!! How many hours of daylight do you get during the planned flowering duration?

Thanks bud! I am a week away from harvesting a monster photoperiod blueberry. Looking forward to it!!

Thanks for all the info, I truly appreciate it.
I did some costing over the long weekend (holiday on Monday here in Shenzhen) and to get the greenhouse fully setup with power, fans, etc, is not affordable for me at the moment. Perhaps at a later stage.
I am going to go the route of growing outdoors. Dew shouldnt be too much of an issue as I have no grass or open ground. My entire back area is covered in stone with a plastic layer beneath it.
So I've decided, as my local suppliers sells Dinafem seeds in packs of 5, I am going to grow 4 outdoors and 1 in a make shift space bucket for shits and giggles. I have all the parts already for the space bucket except the mylar, which costs around $2usd (R29 for the South African readers) for a large 1.3m x 2.1 sheet.

I am going to be using Biobizz Fish Mix and Bloom with some local organic medium, its 50/50 coco peat and perlite.
Other ingredients in the medium are Turbo Grow, Dolomite Lime, Rock Phosphate, Powdered Kelp, Mycoroot, Diatomaceous Earth, Trichoderma & Worm Castings. Because of this, I would most likely only need to start adding nutes around week 4 - 5.
Check it out here : https://hydroponic.co.za/hydroponics/promix-organic/

I'll be using Freedom Pots, they are decent fabric grow pots, luckily they are produced about 20km from where I live so I can buy straight from the manufacturer. Check them out here : http://www.freedomfarms.co.za/freedom-pots/

Firstly that's fantastic news that your government are now allowing personal growers :pass:

Secondly welcome to the AFN platform

And finally, Thank you for choosing our White widow auto xxl for your first "legal" grow :bong:

Will you be documenting your Dinafem adventure on AFN?

Again welcome to AFN and the Dinafem sub-forum :bong:

All the best

Mark.

Thanks for the welcome.

I intend on documenting the grow.
It will only start around 12 October, I just need to get back home from Shenzhen, been stuck here since 27 July for work. Got 15 more days until I leave.
The anticipation and excitement of finally starting a legal grow is causing me sleepless nights.
So what I'm doing is ordering what I can to be delivered to my house, like the pots and nutes, the medium I will buy when I'm back home as shipping costs for 'soil' are ridiculously expensive. At the beginning of next month, I will order the seeds from the local supplier and then in the remainder of time, I will try absorb as much information as possible to make this a successful first grow that myself, family and friends can all enjoy.

I have done 1 previous grow outdoors but it only lasted 5 weeks until the gardener stole the plant. It wasn't anything special so I wasn't too upset. Luckily where I stay now, there is no gardener required as the garden is incredibly small and pretty much non existent as its just stone.

Awe my bru. Welcome to AFN. Check out Jamie's garden shop. He has super cheap fabric pots. Also check out seed worx laboratories super cheap good quality seeds. Hope to see some good stuff coming. Don't worry about RH to much. The South Easter normally sorts us out here in CT. It might be to warm on that paved area if you don't get wind. It easily gets over 40 in Desember and Jan. Good luck.

Awe, I wish I saw your post sooner, I just ordered and paid for those Freedom Pots. Been searching for the past week and most people either only have 3, 1 or nothing. Takealot sells some but they want R200 for 3 AND they dont tell you the litres, only dimensions, which I worked out to be 14L per pot but I'm specifically looking for 20L.

Jassis those prices from Seedworx. Cannabisseeds.co.za want R900 for 5 seeds plus another R200 for shipping, granted all of Cannabisseeds.co.za is all Dinafem while seedworx is more of an unknown brand.
I'm now stuck between a rock and a hard place, do I spend the money on something with a decent track record or spend a fraction of that on something that has no track record

I have bought 2 strains from them the pineapple Dew and the candy floss FX both are doing fantastic. But I hear you on the genetics. Dinafem strains look fantastic. I will invest in there genetics at a later stage. I want the Dinamed but it is currently out of stock.

So I decided to go against everything everyone said .

I've ordered 5 seeds of Critical + 2.0 Auto as it was recommended by some locals.

I decided against Seedworx for now as their oayment methods seemed dodgy (direct atm deposit).

I intend to germinate on 12 October 2018.

I'll start a new thread as a grow journal when I stary germination.

Good.luck. cannot go wrong with Dinafem. Will be watching. Will also be starting a auto grow once my seeds from seedworx arrive. Also got Dutch Passion think different.

Seedworx at best is a bit dodgy - Had a good mate deal with them and was left hanging after numerous communications etc eventually got his seeds.

Something that should of taken 3 days took close to 2 months, (thats international shipping time frames)

We got a few local guys who are pushing seeds, however not many are pushing Auto's as they are caught in old school projects etc.

Think Pachamama is Spanish based and pushing seeds for like R100 a pop auto fem.

Have had a few strains from Dinafem, definitely wont go wrong

Would love to grow outdoors myself, but am certain my plants will take a walk quick and the fast,

Running some autos indoors at the moment, did drop you a PM.

@WalterW I don't know about being dodgy. Maybe a bit high most of the time. I have ordered twice and recieved both orders within 2-5 working days. And all the genetics are really good. BTW did not receive the PM.
