Grow your own in the outdoor heat, maybe Australia!!

Sorry for any confusion I was only talking auto weight performance outdoors(i should have made that clear). Just an example I came up with, not all breeders bs about this but a lot do.
Just a little follow up on this....with Dp its the southern climate that i think is what is making it difficult for them. Ask dptony which strains will do well in a northern climate and he has a ton of sound advice to give. For some breeders, i do believe their outdoor claims and DP is one of them. I have personally out yielded their strain weights using every strain(photos) i have grown from their catalog. Some of the listed weights i have doubled.
Many breeders will know how their strains will do in their microclimate outdoors....but ask about extremely varied conditions, like long or short daylight hours(northern versus close to the equator grows) and its a very different question!!

How many breeders would use a controlled artificially decreasing light regime to know the hours of darkness it takes to initiate preflower? My guess? None! LOL (okay....maybe very, very few)
I would have thought before putting their name on something it would be tested in a variety of different climates/conditions. I know if I was to put my name on something I would want it tested in a multitude of different situations and want an intimate understanding of how it performs in almost every condition  I know that there's a lot of things coming into play having your seeds grow around the world but you would like to think they would have a basic idea of what is going to work for you! Especially the larger companies that have been around for decades, surely they have some decent data about how their strains perform in different conditions by now! I'm not talking about any one company specifically, just a broad generalization :toke:. I'm sure some companies are a lot better than others, but it's very frustrating when you get better advice from a forum member than a company representative... Edit I hope I'm not coming across as pissed off, I'm not trying to put down any one company. Just my general thoughts

I would like to see more companies with more detailed descriptions of strain performance outdoors available on their sites instead of having to rely on information gathered myself from a forum....if I wasn't a member of a forum every strain I have grown to date had little to no information about growing outdoors available from the breeders websites. When you buy a pack of vegetable seeds a lot of information about what growing conditions it's suitable for is contained on the back of the package, typically including what climate it does well in. More information about a given strain in general would be amazing instead of the generic information supplied by most cannabis seed companies. It kind of sucks that you have to contact a company for information and then you find out they basically have no idea what their genetics perform like outside their bubble. I mean I spend hours looking for information about specific strains on here sometimes and the company employs people who can't be assed to do any research on their own lines performance in various conditions, very frustrating at times. I feel it's not too much to ask of a company to have a basic understanding of how their strains will perform in nearly all climates. It's pretty bad when a forum member who has never grown in your climate can give a lot better advice than a seed companies representative that's job is to know what they're talking about. Just my 2 cents on the matter

Ok a little more on the seedling we're growing along the way.... I have been putting her in the sun morning and evening still and she's now at the point where she can spend the whole day in the heat! I have repotted her from the cup to a 1gal pot. She's now getting 1.5ml/ltr of biobizz grow. Temperatures have been around the 38c most of the week, and humidity hovering around 55%. She will still be coming inside under CFL lights of an evening. If you were growing without the supplement lighting I would have put her in her final pot

I totally agree with what you are saying bud.

I know man...it saddens me a little that more people can't grow outdoors for whatever reason!
Realize too @the green bandit that the majority of weed grown these days is indoors. Sun growers are certainly the minority, when compared to indoor fellas.

I’m with ya, brother. Not pissed but certainly let down and frustrated. Many of these breeders post NO (or almost no) information on the grow characteristics of their products but spend multiple flowery paragraphs on the wonderous odors and effects and various insider awards. You’re lucky to get a “medium” or “easy” description that encompasses the info the grower has to go on.

That’s alright, we’ll get it figured out with the help of the AFN braintrust!:shooty:
