Just Finish my first grow with Fast bud,The grow didnt go that well but ended up with some nice smelling good tasting smoke, just not that much of it!

Thought id start a grow log with my next lot for people that havent grown these strains and to get some help if anyone wants to chip in that would be cool.

My grow room is a stealth grow up a 12 foot telescopic ladder in my loft in london.

I had to build it all out of 90mm kingspan insulation board as the loft is un-insulated.

Its just under two square meters.

Heres what kit i have.

Ph meter
CF truncheon
tap water left for 24 hours
tap water ph 8.5
tap water cf 6-7
2x 600 hps grow master duel spectrum lights one is dimmerble and in a cool tube.
Extraction is 150mm RVK L1 Threw carbon filter
Intake is 125mm RVK From the room below
Temps are 18 low and 28 high RH is 38 to 70%
Also have a tube heater in there if i need it as its cold here in london now!
Im growing in 11.5 liter (2 gallon) pots with rock wool and clay pebble layers.

I cant use soil as its to hard to get rid of here in london going in and out of your house with bags of soil would stand out here and a pain to carry up there and mix up. I cant go full hydro as changing tanks and replacing solution's is also to hard and may well freeze if i don't put it in the grow room.

The first grow i used just pure rock wool in 6.5 liter pots and have since been told by my hydro shop that's why the yield was low. Not enough air in the roots. I also over fed burned them then under feed them.

So this time out i have bigger pots and nice air layers in the pots with the clay pebbles. I have also bought two aquarium air pumps to drop in my watering cans overnight to get some air in the feeding solution.

I used vita link max last time but im switching to General hydroponics three part with GH ripen at the end.

Also using cellmax roots for the first 4 weeks of the grow.

I put three flash babylons in to germinate on the 1st of december and the rest of my grow in on the 7th.

I put them straight into rock wool cubes soaked in PH'ed water in a box in the grow room.

The first three babylon's popped out there heads in 3 days and here's what they look like now. Just been fed quarter strength nutes for the first time.

The rest of the Babylons, the afghan kush and the delicious la diva are just poking the heads up today but some are still just under but it seems 100% germination.

The kush and the diva were freebies  as where the first 3 babylon's
The kush will go in 6.5 liter pots as thats all i have left and there a smaller plant.
Im going to chuck all the divas in one pot and see what happens as i dont have the space or pots :)

Some things i need to work out:

How many times a week to ad nutes?
How much to water? its a pot but its not soil, then again i think i may have to act like its soil but have to be spot on as the nutes is all they will be getting.
Do i need an occilating fan?
Are there any good foliar spays ?

If anyone can offer advice as i go along that would be great :peace:

I will get some pictures of the kush an diva up :)

welcome along, lol

Hey its almost as much fun watching someone else's grow progress as it is your own ay..

Hey adz! Nice one. I wish you better luck this time around!
I do a lot of foliar feeding, kelp being my favorite. You can use a lot of things though, from Earthworm Castings to Epsom Salts for mg to Fishy Extracts like BioBizz FishMix, if you can handle the stink...

You just have to be careful and not overdo it.

Here's an answer to a question about foliar feeding and hydro that I found HERE...

" Plants absorb water and nutrients through openings on the leaves called stomata. These pore-like openings also permit CO2 to enter and release oxygen.
Foliar feeding is a very efficient way of providing plants with nutrients because it goes directly to the plant canopy and doesn't have to take the long trip from medium to roots and up the stem.
Make sure the solution you are using is not too concentrated by spraying a few healthy leaves to see if there is any damage. If the leaves curl or look unhealthy in any way two days after spraying, dilute the mix by 50% and try again. Always foliar feed early in the light cycle so the plant parts have a chance to dry off.
Foliar feeding too often can cause over-fertilization. Weekly sprays are generally the maximum. After foliar feeding the first day, spray the plants with pH adjusted water daily for a few days. This provides the plant an opportunity to absorb any fertilizer residue.
When plants are regularly foliar fed, they use less nutrient absorbed by the roots, so the concentration of the nutrient solution can be lowered a bit.
Foliar feeding can also be used to correct deficiencies quickly. For instance, spraying a solution of a teaspoon of magnesium sulfate in a quart of water until it drips off the plant can treat a plant that is suffering from a magnesium deficiency. This provides the plant with magnesium very quickly. Magnesium sulfate should be added to the medium or hydroponic solution as well, so new growth has access to the mineral.
Foliar feeding is especially useful in delivering nutrients that don't translocate, that is, move from one part of the plant to another. Phosphorous and iron are two examples of this.
Stop foliar feeding buds at least three weeks before harvest so no fertilizer residue remains when the bud is picked.
"

Happy Growing adz!

Some pictures of the rest of my grow.

Update.

Not much going on, Replanted the flash babylon's, afghans and divas into 3 inch cubes.
Most have some explosive root growth with not just one tap root coming threw but loads of roots.
The three i planted on the 1st are coming along but looked a little yellow so a gave them some nutes with more N in them.
The three basket cases are all babylon's that were slow coming threw, one has just started a tap root but nothing else so i will keep them aside and put them all in one one and give the divas there own pots!

I still have not harvest all the fast bud from the last grow, thought id leave some one more week to see what the high was like, some pics of them attached.

:peace:

i would like to watch, if you dont mind? i am in learning mode.

Few updated pics of the babylons and the afghan thats a week behind them.

Im starting to get some yellowing so have some sort of problem with them.

It looks like the yellowing starts at the back of the leaves and is moving forward but a few leaves have a small yellow tip.

I know its not short of N so must be a lock out problem, my PH meter was 0.5 off and the last water was at 5.5 so that maybe why they are yellowing!

I dont know what the hell is going on with my PH! it goes in at 6 and comes out at 8.2! and this is in rockwool and clay pebs!
