Hi adz,( I've just joined AFN, and so happy to have done so.) Yeh, Getting loads of "soil" into your home without arousing suspicion from one's neighbours can be difficult. One solution is to shoot the neighbours of course, but on a more practical level you can" become a guitarist". Buy one tomato-growbag, put it into a guitarless guitar shoulder holder and go home with it on your shoulders. Coming and going into your home say 3 times a day for 2-5 days with a guitar case on your back carrying a bag of tomato grow moulded inside and in no time at all you'll have the amount of aggregate you need safely in your home without having triggered any suspicion from those neighbours, (tho naturally "the fill up" after each purchase of tomato grow bag will have to be done very discreetly) Added bonus is that tomato grow-bags are cheap, (supermarkets sell them for "2 for 4 quid") and they are rather light. Being a soilless medium with zero nutrients and zero fertiliser they are perfect for growing weed. (1 part perlite, 1 part vermiculite, 1 part peat-moss and a perfectly weighed small amount of dolamite lime to regulate the aggregate's ph) Tomato grow bags are usually sealed and sterilised to boot, so no nasty pathogens, bacteria, or bugs. With zero nutrients to start with, there is no need for guess work regarding dosages (as would happen with a purchased medium already containing nutrients). Just feed each plant a quarter of whats on the instructions of the complete chemical feed that you would normally mix with water for non-autos, and slowly increase the dosages as they flower more and more, with a timely "bud booster" additive added at some point in time,(5-20-5 is a great bud booster in my experience) and of course a good double flush 14 days prior to the chop as well as a last flush 1 day before the chop as you don't want to be smoking nutrients!" Double flushing" means to flush, wait 30 minutes to an hour for the built- up salts in the aggregate to fully dissolve, and then flush again. (Strangely enough, a lot of seemingly great growers on AFN don't seem to mention this "double-flush method" and the importance of WAITING FOR THE BUILD-UP SALTS TO FULLY DISSOLVE AFTER THE FIRST FLUSH BEFORE FLUSHING AGAIN.)
But you've done really really great already without becoming a "guitarist." (ha ha). I just hope that this advice may come in handy for you another time, and/or perhaps for others reading this now who may be wanting to move "soil" into their homes but are jammed up with noisy neighbours.
But guitar or no guitar, never forget. An aggregate that's great for tomatoes, really IS great for weed!
Peace out.
