Grow Mediums Grow in COCO?

Justin.. you`re right..coco is not soil..but its proven that it pretty much CAN be used like soil..or not far away from it atlast. like said..there are many ways to go in coco :gthumb:

i`ve never watered every day..just to put that out there :Sharing One: :vibes:

Tnx Dr :Sharing One:

Great thread guys!

I'll drop my feelings in here as I've been using canna coco for a while and done a fair bit of research ^_^

Personally I water coco the same way I would water soil, with about 20% run off and then wait until the pots feel light (but before the leaves droop) before I water again. I water in the range of 5.7 up to 6.3 in flowering. EC never below 0.8 because it ruins the buffers in Canna coco. (So no plain water flushing)

I've read that a drip feed 3 times a day would potentially make for a more robust and higher yielding plant, but it's not for me.

So I guess there's some good flexibility with coco, and to be honest would recommend anyone give it a go! :)

Try it out dude and see what you get:)

I had so much problems growing in soil because owerwatering so i LOVE to water everyday and get perfect results.

I start out with water every 2 days untill my plants are aprox 1 week old then i up it to atleast once a day.

I also start feeding from day1, then i feed every time i give them water....so friggin easy mate:)

Are you in a warm climate Justin? :) or do you water little and often rather than a large amount at once?

just curious, as I say - lots of flexibility and different ways :)

Growing indoors under LED with temps around 23-25c max with LED on, so no warm climate, and i water to i get 10-20% run off every time. :) Both photos and autos love that

Sweet! :) You're making me feel lazy  .... Waiting for the pots to dry heheh

it would be cool to do a comparison on it :)

i`ve myself cought myself wondering if its worth it..the much more amount of nutes you would use...on watering everyday instead of every second..for how much of a diference?

:dunno:

i also got the same temps and led.same amount of runof.but still..didnt water more often than every second day :Sharing One:

I really dont think i use more nutes tho because my plants need aprox 50% less water/feed when i dont let them dry out.

If the coco is wet and hold "old" water then i get my runoff with less water/feed then i would have to give them if i wait 2-3 days. Does that make sence?--lol

i can understand where you going with it ^^ lol :P we stoners have a tendense to understand eachother, eh? :pighug:

ye..like said..a test on this would be awesome! idd :coffee2:
