New Grower Gratefully green husband

If 71°F is the warmest it is going to get in the garage you do not need air conditioning. Plants are happy all the way up to the 90s with enough humidity. Forget about running CO2 in a tent period! It is hard enough in a sealed room and IMPE is not worth the time or money to speed up or increase yield. I have done several runs with CO2 with little to no increase. Get the biggest TALLEST tent you can fit in your space. Use rigid styrofoam insulation on the outside of the tent or plan on heating the garage. Plants stop growing below about 65°F. Go with an 8" Hyper Fan exhaust. It has built in speed control. Starting with too little CFM capacity is problematic. You can put the Fan and filter can outside of the tent and pull the air in through a regular AC filter to keep the air clean and free of critters. The RO system looks good on paper. I have no experience with this unit. Get better Quality PH/TDS meters (I use BlueLab now). Going organic is good but it is difficult to solve deficiencies. I have no experience with the soil/coco products you have chosen. I am sure others will chime in on that. It sounds like you want a perpetual grow and you do not want to build your own lights? Remember that you will need to raise or lower the lights or plants individually to do that. Autos can get much bigger than you think. @BigSm0 has COB lights that would work well for what you are planning. Each COB is hung separately and the are passive cooled. You should have a chat with him before you buy.

OMG you are going to get an earful about germination. I am using GroDan's rockwool A-ok starters and system right now but before I started growing in hydro I used sponges like Rapid Rooters in a room that is 78°F with 25% strength nutrients. Both systems work well for me. At least when I don't screw up.

Hey man, yeah 71 is avg mean temp. Right now we are at 85 to 90F and 80 to 90% RH. The coldest months are obviously Feb and March coming in at avg daily temps of 50 and lows in the 30s at night, usually. I was thinking I might go with a bigger exhaust fan too. That's why I haven't killed my budget. As far as germination goes, I heard 78 was the best temp. And I heard that once the cotyledons break the surface, you should reduce the temp a few degrees for a few days and your plants internodal spacing will tighten up. I'll check out @BigSm0. :peace:

Ok so what is the temperature in the garage on a 90° day?

You put 50 growers in a room and ask them you are likely to get 50 germination methods; I am not kidding:shrug:. Mother nature adds water, warmth and day with night.

Good questions. Not sure. I am going to get a couple hygrometers today and do some measurements. As far as germ goes, I think I will do the seeds in a cup of water and once they crack place them into unfertilized media that is already in the grow container surrounded by the Living Soil so as the roots grow into the nutes there is no shock and burn happening. Think that will work.

I hope I can get you to reconsider that presoak Idea. Just plant them in the container where they will grow, (use a rapid rooter if your soil texture is not fine enough ) water 1/4 strength nutes and keep them warm @78°F running your lights on the regular 18/6 schedule. Mandela Seeds and many others discourage soaking.

Sounds even better. I will try it. I like the idea of puttin 'em right into the pot they are going to grow in. Less stress the better. :peace:

It's 420!:pass:

@Mañ'O'Green BTW, what size pots would you recommend? I'm thinking 4, 5 gal pots in a 4'x4' for a first time.
