New Grower Gorilla Glue Autos in a 4x4 tent. New grower. Advice welcomed.

No, I use a heat mat and grow tray. After the initial soak in peroxide mix, the seeds go into a light proof lidded container which holds them in wet paper towel or cotton cloth in a vertical position. This container goes into the heated grow tray until tap roots emerge. Once tap roots appear, the seeds are planted either in peat plugs, or directly in seedling mix in a transplant pot. The plugs and/or pots are placed inside the tray with a clear lid over the tray to keep RH up. Temperature in the tray is controlled by an inkbird controller. I used to put seeds in a plastic container or ziplock on top of a router, but upgraded that setup to gain better control over temperature, and be able to keep new seedlings heated and with high RH.

Clear as mud? :pighug: :goodluck:

Thanks for sharing. I think i’ll stick to the simple bag + napkin method for now lol.
I can use peroxide no matter which method I go with?

How long do you give your seeds to sprout before thinking something is wrong?
With my current grow(first indoor) it took them about 5 days to break the soil, few years ago with my outdoor attempts it took anywhere between 3-5 days as well. you have to be patient, from mine and my friends experience the seeds usually sprout the day after you promised yourself you’d get rid of them and buy new ones if they don’t sprout by that day, so yeah just be patient :D

With my heat tray setup, if they have not shown taps in ~48 hours, they rarely if ever do. Mostly, they are rooted in less than 36 hours.

Okay so i’ll give it until Friday until I start poking around the pots(be about 5 days), hopefully my other seeds arrive by then and I can get them in soil this week.

Thank you all for contributing and following my grow! Always nice hearing from you experienced folks

If you know exactly where the seeds are, and are super careful, you might find one that is actually still alive without damaging it. It pays in any case to find them to see what happened. Most of my failures seem to crack and show a hint of a tap root, and then stall at that point. This year, these have all been the one strain that I have been having issues with. Could be my seeds, but the jury it still out.

Anyway, good luck with it. :goodluck:

Best to start practicing patience now, as growing takes heaps of it the whole way through  btw, you can find far better seeds from breeders for a lot less than what you paid for your five from cropking. I just got my order from mephisto yesterday, $140ish shipped, and I got 25 beans.

Just from a quick search of the forum, it looks like duds are pretty typical from them and they're known to send out immature seeds.
