Those look like self watering spikes to me my friend. Is there a thread in the big end.. Like u could screw it onto a 2L bottle??? Sorry if someone has already answer this.. also.. I skipped sort of back to front here but have u been trying to get some seeds to sprout since 2nd December?? I see lots of charts and science but no offence to you or anyone else.. I'm not sure how much that matters when it comes to gettin a seed above soil.. I stick mine in a pot of wet soil usually with a heat mat under and hey Presto.. 3/4 days we have a baby plant.
looks like it got helmet head cuz humidity to low/medium not moist enough and pH is off, that’s why purpling on stem.
congrats on the seedling.

Everything germinating is covered to keep humidity as high as possible till sprout. All in 6.0ph soil. All soil is very moist-slightly wet.
Here is a good watering schedule I have tried.
Day 1 – Give 2 cups (500ml) water per plant (you should have done that in the above step when you installed your seedlings)
/Day 3 – Give 2 cups (500ml) water per plant
Day 6 – Give 2 cups (500ml) water per plant
Day 8 – Give 3 cups (750ml) water per plant (every 3 days after this)
Day 11 – Give 3 cups (750ml) water per plant
Day 14 – Give 4 cups (1 liter) water per plant
Day 17 – Give 4 cups (1 liter) water per plant
Day 20 – Give 5 cups (1.25 liter) water per plant
Day 23 – Give 6 cups (1.5 liter) water per plant
Day 26 – Give 6 cups (1.5 liter) water per plant
Day 29 – Give 8 cups or 1/2 gallon (2 liter) water per plant
As someone who grows in a storage room with no Insulation, temp rises are a pain.
What I have found when you get between 85-90f make sure your vpd is in range.
So get that humidity up.
Early veg I am 75-80 % with 85-90f temps.
Hope it helps
hey @hope2grow! Thanks for contributing man.
Their is a thread in the big end. No one has answered this so thank you! How useful are they?
Yes, I started to germinate around the 2nd. I was following CropKings germination directions as they’ll guarantee your seeds that way. They say 3-7 days for germination before they guarantee them.
So that slowed the process down.
Following their instructions didnt help much as I only got 1/5 above soil.
I’m waiting on more seeds which i plan on using a heating mat. Not sure if i’ll place directly in soil yet.
But im definitely considering it.
Up until recently and for years I used root riot cubes m8. They were great for me and not too expensive. It was a brave jump going str8 into soil lol I'm not familiar with cropkings seeds at all so no offence to them but if 2 batches don't give you any joy I'd look elsewhere.. did I see mephisto mentioned?? If u can get some of their stuff.. seedstockers.. autoseeds.. sssc...Dutch passion.. any of those would be worth a go.. don't give up.
