Oh man... Sorry I'm brand new to the forum and didn't even know there was a breeders corner, sorry guys.

I want to beat one of my 5 bubblicious autos up to hermie her. My understanding is that if it's stressed induced the hermie trait won't be carried on to later generations. BUT what I don't yet understand is what happens if it self pollinated. I'm willing to sacrifice a plant for auto fem seeds. Would 1 hermied auto self pollinating do that for me?

Any ideas on the hermie self pollinating? Im know were near time to do that with my current grow but I wanna pick a runt and hermie that plant....

Or another possibility could be to over flower one? Just let one lady flower long enough to make bananas and collect the pollen and cross with another auto strain..

Honestly I'd rather hermie if it would work

Please stop before you ruin a plant for no reason. That is not the way you make seeds.

To make feminized seeds yes, you need a female that hermie into male, so she only carries female genes, although she now makes pollen
To just make autos no need, this is just if you want to make feminized autos.

If you follow this advice you will undoubtedly be establishing a highly intersex prone line.... if you want fem seeds dont use a female that herms easily thats just ignorant, use colloidal silver to inhibit the ethylene production of a "true" female and use that pollen if you want fems, that way you wont have a super hermie line.

I've search. I've read. I don't understand Ab vs ab charts for genetics. What I'm looking for here is an ELI5, or explain like I'm five on getting continuous auto traits.

So here's my example question. Say I plant 5 regular auto northern lights seeds, 5 female auto bubb seeds, and and 5 female northern lights autos. I get three male northern light autos and breed with 2 bubbs and 2 northern lights, both femmed autos. Will this continue an auto trait for either strain? Will the northern lights being closers in genetics be more stable?

I'm just using this as an example and I guess long story short...

TLDR. Can I breed regular male autos with female autos to get stable male/female auto seeds? I don't care if they're femmed, I just want auto traits.

you can go ahead and use the NLA male pollen if youd like but femenizing would be easier as far as small numbers selections go (less space/time/resourcfes wasted on maes) if you pollinate the auto BB with the Auto NL then youll get full autos if you pollinate the regular NL with the auto NL youll get 100% photos that carry auto and will need to breed another 2-3 gens to get back to auto.

it will..... if the plant can go intersex without chemical manipulation then its not a "true" female. when you use CS or another chemical the plant is still XX on the chromosomes and without a Y present when you pollinate another XX female youll get all XX females (no males) thats how it works.

you might find it ignorant but I just find it the simple way to explain a doubt, sure ignorant, I wonder if you had to translate every word in here might not be so ignorant, but sure I guess we all have our strong points, yours is trying to come out as a smart ass, mine was clearing a doubt and stating I was no breeder.
And what do you call and plant that starts one sex and no matter what the cause are, changes sex to produce both sexes in one plant, just to get rid of a bit of my ignorance!

its called intersex btw. nothing wrong with being ignorant, Im a grown ass man and I still dont know how to tie a tie....but id gladly take someones advice who knows how to

There are ways of explaining thing without deminishing others, just that, and after a lot of research I find that intersex and hermaphroditism comes very close if somewhat different, one can't happen without the other apparently, see how it's possible to enlighten others without being rude!
